My wife and I stayed at the Athens Center Square Hotel for three days at the start of a two week trip to Greece.  Major sights and nice restaurants are within walking distance, and there is a  nearby metro stop.  The room was very clean, and the  beds were comfortable.  Breakfasts are very nice, with both hot and cold foods.  The front desk staff were always helpful, going out of their way to help us share a taxi to the airport. But,what really makes this hotel special is the view of the Acropolis at night from the rooftop terrace.  The neighborhood seemed a bit sketchy at first, but we always felt safe, and the market just right out the front door of the hotel was a great place to grab lunch food.  The internet connection is very secure, with a new individual password required daily, but the signal was not strong, and it frequently required us to log back in after a few minutes of inactivity.  Overall, The Athens Center Hotel was a great place to begin our trip, and we highly recommend it.

Dear Guest,

How nice to read that you had a good start of your holidays from our hotel!

I am very glad you enjoyed the very central location with the colorful fruit market in front of the hotel as well as easy access to all sites and restaurants.
As you mentioned though the area seemed sketchy at first, it is safe, if someone is a bit careful as in most big cities.

Thank you for mentioning the rich and fresh breakfast you experienced, as well as the lovely view from roof top.

Hope to see you again on a future trip to Athens.

Best regards

Like many others have said, it's a short 10 minute walk away from either Omonia or Montrasaki (I want to say Montessori) metro, thus very close to Plaka and all that. The best is that up this side, you are just away enough for things to be cheap for supplies and food. The gyro shop on the corner is awesome. So are the open air fruit, vegetable, fish, meat and antique weaponry markets...seriously! Great location.

The rooms are all double and while not particularly spacious, very nicely appointed. Breakfast is superb, with good selection for all. Staff is uber friendly and helpful.

In short, yes it's a great hotel but for one exception. The absolutely crappy wireless. Each floor has wireless, which is confusing. "ACSH6", for example, would be the one for the 6th floor, but if everyone is using that one, it's slower than heck. Tip for those coming to the hotel so you know what's going on when you see all those ACSHs coming up on your device. Also, mindbogglingly confusing and unnecessary, you've got to get your own username and password...for each device...EVERY day. If you have more than one account on a laptop, you need one for each account. It's just silly and I wouldn't mind if it was at all strong, but it's quite weak and cuts out intermittently. Message to ACS...fix that wireless!

Tim's Tips:
-Ground floor is 0, not M. M is the foyer breakfast nook.
-There's a secret sneaky elevator to the right side of the main one. Only fits 2 people, or 3 very skinny or friendly people.
-The little grocery store 2 down from the hotel sells cold pop and beer for 50 cents...WAY cheaper than the corner by the gyro places. Just ask the nice middle eastern man.
-Ask for a south room and you'll get a nice view of the acropolis, though you could also see it from the roof.
-coffee, tea and biscuits are available after 10 AM onward in the lobby.

If I helped you, vote me up!

Room Tip: high floors south side for Acropolis.

A wonderful boutique hotel with a great location and staff. Rooms are nicely appointed, great full breakfast. and an incredible view of the Acropolis from the rooftop bar. We left at 3 am for the islands and they had a great continental breakfast ready for us. Ask for a first floor room with a patio. Great location for all tourist sites. It's opposite a wonderful fruit and vegtable open market. The staff was heplful at all times. The best value for your money in Athens.

Clean rooms, shower is small but everything was new and clean. No mold. The beds are very firm but I found that to be with all European hotels. 10 minute walk from metro station or to Plaka. 20 minute walk to the Acropolis. You get off Montrasaki station from the airport and go up Athinas street. I avoid arriving late at night as the streets are dark around the hotel and may seem unsafe/scary. Our five nights there were incident free and there were lots of cops around however. The fruit market in front that others have negatively commented on actually seemed really cool and made our stay feel more local. Breakfast was excellent and tasted fresh every morning. Rooftop bar was trendy and had a nice view. The man who worked at the front desk was kinda cold, but I think that's how he is because he answered all my questions. Lady who worked there was nice. I would return here.

Stayed here for one night on route to the Islands. It was a short night - in at 11pm and out at 5am to get ferry. The hotel is good. Very close to the Metro and the Plaka if you want to go out for something to eat or drink. Yes there is rubbish on the ground and you see some dogs not on leads in Athens at the moment ... but I would never have called it a clean city. If you get to stay for a few hours in the morning definitely go to the fish and food market across the road from the hotel . A great visual experience. I've stayed in many small hotels in Athens where you don't want to spend too much as its only a night and this is definitely the best one I've stayed in. And this year it was only 59Euro for a double which I thought was very good. The one 'negative' was the guy at reception who can be surly and told us that it would cost 20euro for a taxi to the Pireaus. Having decided to take the metro we overslept and ran onto the street and hailed a taxi... it was 10euro.. strange?

Dear Guest,

It is great to see our clients coming back and still be satisfied.
I am pleased you found our hotel of a good value and with very easy access from the metro station with direct line from airport and port.
Concerning your comment on the taxi driver to the port, I can give the following explanations:
I was told that day time with traffic, the cost is appr. 18 Euro including the 3 Euro of telephone appointment.
If you travel at around 5 am and obviously with no traffic and no appointment, the amount you have paid is very fair.
It is good that clients are informed in advance what they are expected to be charged, so they are badly surprised.

I thank you again for your helpful review.

Best regards
