Everyone was so warm and friendly eventhough my friends and I don't know a lick of Greek except for Cali mera, Cali spera, and effkaristo! Food was superb and very cheap ... 3 huge gyros + their house red = 8.9 euros. Mr. Kostas even gave us a free carafe of red wine after we polished off the first on our last night in the city. Him and his family are a treasure! We are sure to be back when we are in Athens :D

Helpful tips: We got off at the Ambelokipi stop on the blue line metro and walked east to Panormou St and headed north on it. It's somewhere on the right near the first big church you encounter. It's about a 3-4 block walk from the metro.

This is small cafe, more exactly bistro, served by family of young people. Very friendly atmosphere, very very very good souvlaki, very fresh, very tasty!!! We did try the beer, which was cool and good. It is not difficult to find the restaurant. The only problem working hours are not predicted.
We will visit the restaurant again when we will visit Athens.

First, note that Kostas has moved from Plaka area to 5 Pentelis, near the Syntagma Metro station. They only sell souvlaki, but WOW! Warm pita, grilled marinated pork, Greek yoghurt, lettuce and tomato. It sounds simple. But it is truly sublime. BTW, they use plain yoghurt, without garlic, which allows the spices in the meat to come through and is a real favor for anyone in your group who didn’t partake. 4.80 Euros buys 2 souvlaki and 2 beers – you can’t beat that. They serve from a very, I mean very, small and plain space…. But they serve from 10 am to 5 am! We ended up eating there twice in the same day, we loved it that much! Closed Sat & Sun. (And don't mix this with Kosta (not Kostas) on Agais Eirinis Sq)
