Popped in for lunch. Staff were friendly and welcoming. A couple of us had the pork souvlaki and enjoyed it. Those that didn’t had food envy.
Well priced too.

This is our second meal at El Gecco. They offer a pleasant atmosphere with great service and a enjoyable meal at a reasonable cost. This is a photo of my husband’s meal of snapper.

Do not understand the good rating this place has got. Extremly late service, uninspired and bland food: soggy chips, lukewarm spagetti, dry old rice. Much better options nearby.

El Greco is a family-owned and run restaurant near the Acropolis, away from the busy Plaka area. The family - Panayoutis Bramos, his wife Olga, and their son George - are delightful. They are kind, welcoming and relaxed. They love talking with customers, but never intrude. They run a very efficient ship, so meals appear fairly quickly despite everything being freshly cooked, and there's no nonsense about waiting for ages to get the bill. No microwave meals there. Plenty of locals as well as tourists eat there. The cooks do excellent meals and are friendly, and the charges are modest. A set meal of a large snapper, vegetables, a glass of wine and a Greek salad starter was 15 Euros. My wife and I shared a large bowl of delicious pasta with basil pesto and a big side dish of greens, some bread, and a glass of wine each. The meal was delicious and our bill was 20 Euros. The restaurant is smart, clean and roomy, and the tables have plenty of space between them. El Greco is open from 08.00, so there's no need to pay for expensive hotel breakfasts, until 23.00. It's a brilliant place and the Bramos family are models of hospitality. They are lovely people who are very good at what they do.
