Owner description: This ancient Greek temple, located on the Acropolis and dedicated to Hephaistos, god of the forge, is one of the few temples to be almost entirely preserved.

This temple to the Greek god of fire is a must see. I first noticed it from the top of the Acropolis. It is the only temple with a roof. From this site, you can also get a great view of the Ancient Agora.

The Temple of Hephaestus is located within the grounds of the Ancient Agora just north of the Acropolis, and in my opinion it was the best preserved temple of all that I saw my 3 weeks in Greece. It stands about 80% intact, as though it was protected from the wind damage and earthquakes over the centuries. You cannot miss it.

Well worth a visit. I know there are many Archaeological sites but this is a visit you will enjoy. Remember if you go to the Acropolis and buy the 12 euro ticket, that gives access to a number of sites over a 2 day period.

Temple of Hephastus is standing in Agora almost unaffected from time, inside this huge arch. Site also very interesting is the museum of Attalos which hosts hundreds of artifacts inside in a beautiful classic building.Outside there is a nice pedestrian street full of tourist shops and coffee shops where you can relax after a long walk.

A great place to see, but so difficult to find! The whole site must be explored -allow at least a half day and take water.
