Stamata is known for its kreato-tavernas, and the main platia is circled with a wide selection. I like this one (first left as you drive in to the platia) for its contemporary design, ample spacing between tables, and extra-courteous service. Besides the main menu selection of grilled meats, several options of peynirli are also available as a main entree. Excellent green salad, and the cooked vegetable platter, and anthotyro with preserved kydono or honey, are some nice side orders. Another innovation here are the desserts. Besides the traditional honey 'loukomades' (with or without ice cream on top) try the rich and satisfying chocolate tart.
