A place that Greece is proud of. You can have nice French food cooked with the best ingredients. The problem is that with 2 star Michellin you expect the unpredictable... but that does t happening.
The service is excellent, Eurepides is the person to trust there. The place is very formal but not charming. Don t ever go during summer. Winter is its season. Desserts are kind of French style but not as the should be. I like it even thogh it is absolutely very expenssive. I would like it more if the decor was more trendy! Or more french style!

“Best in Athens but not for every taste”
Reviewed March 7, 2013

For many years the #1 restaurant in Athens and only 2 Michelin star.
Oddly situated in a middle class colorless neighbourhood of Athens, certainly not a tourist area, in an old house internally redesigned to a pleasing standard. Talented chefs and a sure-handed guiding management have produced a restaurant of bold, french inspired but really world-class cuisine, managing to succesfully blend exotic and deeply local ingeredients in original and sometimes provocative combinations, in a way that other "mix anything with anything" hopeful chefs (and we have many of them in this modern "Masterchef" TV approach) could simply not ever match.
Such restaurants require an educated palate to appreciate the difference. Large portion lovers, people unwilling to "travel" in taste, bargain-dining hunters should not visit it. The place is expensive, you get close to 150 euros per person with wine, portions are small but numerous and, ultimately, very sufficient. You go there to taste, not to feed. Originality and talent are way above the norm. And, no, the place is not for people who like to show off. Nobody recognizes anyone in there, it is a mix of foreigners and locals who just enjoy their food. No music. Many unknown but excellent wine labels.
Discrete and prompt service. Excellent starters. Less imaginative, but good main courses. Divine deserts. Superior "art de la table" plateware. Surprizing free "amuse-bouche" bites, 4 different kinds of bread, virgin oil and seasalt instead of butter.
A place you go in order to travel in taste and learn during dining. I hope they keep the standard for long time to come, and not be affected from the current deep economic crisis in Greece. So I can continue to visit for many more years every 3-4 months. just to taste what's new, as I have done with my family since long.

“We had a good time.”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

I'll start off by saying this is not the type of place that my husband and I go. It was included in our vacation package. We were not used to all the rules of etiquette. BUT it was delicious and we had fun! The waiter explained most things (sometimes it was needed, sometimes I felt like they thought we were stupid). But this is fine because we really are inexperienced. It was great food and a fun night.

“Great experience in this 2-michelin starred resto”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

This restaurant was CLASSY all the way. Housed in a quiet neighborhood, you knew you were in for a great meal from the moment you entered the restaurant.

Right off the bat, let me say though that it was VERY VERY QUIET. Our main waiter had a very snobby and snooty approach to serving us but somehow it still managed to work because of the over-all feel of the place.

The sommelier though was TOP NOTCH. Very pleasant and really seemed like he loved his job. Aside from, he gave us excellent suggestions and wasn't always going for the expensive wines on the menu. Kudos for that!

The food was very good. There were some dishes that were a bit of a miss but the excellent dishes like the deconstructed carbonara and the dessert place were more than enough to make up for any misses. They were just clever and beautifully presented.

Be prepared for quite a long night if you do take the tapas menu which we took. Around 6-7 dishes over 3.5 hours. Again, some times the time between courses was a tad long but the over-all experience of the place made up for it.

Put in your agenda! Price-wise, it's a steal for this level of dining.
