Been several times to Chameleon House for lunch or just a coffee, excellent food, nice seasonal specials and good pricing. Always feel welcome, great staff. Well worth a visit, looking forward to trying the dinner menu next week. Keep up the good work.

My wife and I had travelled 200 miles for the weekend and knew nothing about the area. Chameleon House recommended by friends but, even so, we were very surprised at just how good our short stay was.
Peter & Ginny are great hosts, the room was excellently quirky and comfortable and the food was outstanding. My steak was perfect but my tune fishcake the following night was just superb.
We are going to go back soon.

Room Tip: The family room, 2000, is very nice and versatile

Pleasantly surprised by our stay here. We only stayed for 1 night but wish we could have stayed longer. The building has been renovated beautifully by the owners. They were extremely welcoming and friendly. Our room was the family room which was enormous. I think maybe even larger than my whole flat. There were toys on the floor for my baby to play with so she was kept entertained throughout our stay. Breakfast was delicious and a really nice touch to have cereal, milk and orange juice in the room as well. Had a really good nights sleep on a very comfortable bed. We will definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.

We celebrated our anniversary at Chameleon House last weekend when they opened their new restaurant. We were both delighted with the amazing taste and quality of the food, wonderful service and charming atmosphere in their recently updated restaurant. Already looking forward to going back. Oh, and the wine list was very good too. If you like rich red wine try the Spitting Spider!

We Stayed at Chameleon House for a family party and would highly recommend it to anybody. Ginni and Peter were extremely welcoming and showed us straight to our room which was beautiful and huge! The decor is modern and fresh, without ruining the character of the building. The bed was queensize and extremely comfortable, and the living area comfortable too, with leather sofas, TV and DVD player and a dining area. A selection of DVDs are available free of charge, and there are books and magazines scattered throughout the room and communal entrance to be read at leisure. We had our 1 year old with us, and as well as the cot being provided for us, there was a basket of books and toys for her to play with and a child's armchair set up in the lounge area. She was in her element and it was a real "home from home" for us all.

The room had it's own small kitchen area, with a fridge, kettle and microwave. Breakfast was wonderful and is brought to your room for you, and there was a choice of bacon rolls, full English, continental or smoked salmon and eggs. You also have a supply of cereals, milk and juice in your room as well as tea and coffee making facilities.

The en suite bathroom was modern, the shower fantastic (and hot!!!) and the toiletries provided were good quality, branded products, not the basic value brands found in most B&Bs.

I would not hesitate in recommending Chameleon House to anybody and will definitely return there in the future.

From the moment I arrived at The Chameleon, I was made to feel extremely welcome. The owners went out of their way to ensure my stay was a comfortable one.
The house is stunning with lots of character and original features like exposed beams and a lovely open fireplace in my sitting room.
The apartment was large and spacious with every need catered for.
The breakfast was freshly cooked and plentiful with the added bonus of being served in the room.

Room Tip: The apartment I stayed in had room for six people to stay comfortably but the only thing I would say...

We stayed here on recommendation when visiting family. We were all blown away, and we have already planned our next trip down.
I was in the top room, a beautiful room with every facility I could want. Love little touches like items in the fridge and books in the rooms. Was also so impressed with the 'children's areas' in the rooms. Would make it so special for those with families.
Breakfast was delicious in the morning and service was friendly, welcoming and helpful.
Everything was just gorgeous and so homely. Loved it :)
