We are home but our hearts are still at Firefly Bequia.
---the soft breezes over the fields where the horses are frollicking after a rainstorm the night before
---the sparkling blue waters that greet you every morning when you walk out onto your balcony
---the wonderful staff , Rodney, Donovan, Leslie Anne, Keith and all that attend to your every need and make your stay so perfect and peaceful
---the official greeters and companions for the day if desired, Jude, Ana and Vivi who make you long for your 4 legged friends back home
---the exquisitely detailed rooms where nothing is lacking for your comfort, pleasure and enjoyment
---the private beaches, the peaceful pool, the abundance of radiant flowers, the fruit trees and gardens that provide fresh, organic produce for your gourmet dining pleasure
---relaxing on the veranda overlooking the lushgrounds while enjoying a perfectly prepared tropical drink as the sun sets is good for one's soul
---and then there is the Plantation itself with all it's natural beauty, intriguing history, buildings and nostaglia
Firefly Bequia is a trip back in time with all the conveniences of today ! This is an experience you will never forget and will always want to repeat !

Bequia is the most beautiful island, unspoilt, real Caribbean charm and tranquility.
We had visited one becfore by boat about ten years ago and wanted to return to stay in a hotel but untill recently there has not really been anywhere appropriate to stay. We are not flashy people (Sandy Lane we are not!) but we do want a bit of lux so were delighted when Firefly opened. We stayed last year and have just come back from our second visit. Last year was lovely (or we would not have returned!) but this year was even better. The managment have done a wonderful job on the grounds, pool is clean and sparkling, sevice wonderful and we were made to feel very special and welcome. It is that freindly, warm and genuine attitude that really made it for us. The rooms were spotless and well equipted, wonderful music on the ipods, candles, and flowers. The food is great and the cook most accomodating.
It's nice to return to a place that just feels 'right' and to come back and find it even better than before is fab!! Value for money wise spot on.
Thanks Firefly for a great time. Thanks Bequia for being you!

I just wanted to say how much we enjoyed our stay at Firefly, we were totally impressed by the hospitality and service we received from Rodney, Donovan, Leslie Anne and all the wonderful Firefly team.
We arrived to a warm welcome with fresh fruit punches made from fruit picked from the grounds. Leslie Ann showed us to our rooms which had an adjoining door which was great as we were travelling as a group. The rooms were very spacious with wonderful four poster king sized beds, double indoor outdoor showers, fruit plates, deliciouls crisp sheets and lovely balconies overlooking the sea.
We were on the 'Best of Both Worlds Special' so all meals were included. We did eat out a couple of times and the harbour is great but we prefered the food at Firefly and the service we received there. The menu was varied and feaured lots of delicious local dishes and fresh produce from the palantation.
Yes, we will definately go back, we have fallen in love with the place. Just such warm service and a great atmosphere with out being too over the top.
It was very hot when we were there which my son found a bit hard but he spent most of the day lying by the pool so it wasn't so bad!
Great holiday - thank you!

My husband and I stayed at Firefly Bequia as part of the Best of Both Worlds Special. Booking the vacation was simple. I only had to make arrangements from the States to Barbados. The rest of the small flights and transfers to and from Bequia/Mustique were taken care of by Stan, one of the owners. When booking, I told Liz, the other owner, it was our 2nd Anniversary, The Cotton Anniversary. She not only put us in the "Sea Cotton" room, but gave us a cotton present as part of our welcoming gift!!! Amazing!
When we arrived, we were greeted by two small dogs, Anna and Jude. Being an animal lover, the plantation's dogs, cats, and horses were a major plus for the Firefly in my book.
After drinking our special welcome drink, we made our way to one of the four rooms. Our 2nd floor room was large with a spectacular view of the plantation and beyond. The stone-floored, double shower was even accessible from the porch, perfect for a tropical setting while showering. The king-sized bed was so comfortable and fresh sheets were put on everyday. As a matter of fact, the room was cleaned immaculately everyday and my clothes folded. We also were given a huge welcome basket of fresh fruit, perfect for snacking after a long trip.
The service at the Firefly is perfect. We were given a cell phone to call anyone of the staff for any need or desire. Delan, Donovan, Rodney, and countless others behind the scenes were exceptional and certainly made us want to return in the near future! Donovan personally gave me plantation tour, even though it was off season and the regular plantation man was not available. He told me everything he knew about the fruits and vegetables, and I honestly could not have asked for a better tour guide! We had our own personal taxi man, John. Always on time with a smile on his face, John was anywhere we needed him to be! Thank you, John!!!
The food is excellent at the Firefly. Many of the dishes and garnishes come straight out of the plantation. I also loved my mid-afternoon grilled cheese sandwiches. They were delicious. Some people on Trip Advisor complained about the cost of drinks. I have trouble understanding why. If you go to a big city in the States, many of the drinks run in the $8-15 range. They also are not made from fresh ingredients growing right next to the bar and served by a kick-butt bartender in a stunning environment. It was worth every penny to me.
My husband and I love the Firefly Bequia and can not wait to return!!! Thank you, Firefly staff, for giving us a fantastic and unforgettable anniversary!
On a side note: Bring mosquito repellant. Not the "eco-friendly" kind. You need the "kills everything in its path" straight-up poison kind. These skeeters are relentless and immune to citronella. I made the mistake and was covered head to toe in bites.

We stayed just two nights but wished we could have afforded a longer stay here. There are only four rooms and we were the only guests when we stayed there, it being low season. This is definietly a quiet, get away from it all place, and the quietness suited us.

The room was beautiful, elegantly furnished and spacious. The double shower with views over spring bay was amazing, and the four poster bed was lovely. There is a seperate dressing area, and the balcony had great views. The room also had AC and a mini bar. The housekeeping staff did a great job keeping the room clean and confortable, with fresh fruit awaiting you in your room, and fresh flowers. Beach towels are provided, and you can get picnic lunches (complete with picnic hamper set) to take with you if you go for a day out.

The hotel is located in a quiet part of the island, with its beautiful plantation to walk around. The nearest beach is spring bay, just 5 minutes walk down the road, but it was a bit seaweedy at this time of year. It is easy enough to get a taxi to one of the nice beaches, only 10 minutes drive away, and the hotel provide you with a local mobile phone, so you can call the taxi for free. John the taxi man was great, pointing out sights as we we went and was always reliable and on time.

What really made this hotel stand out was the staff, both those we met and those working hard behind the scenes. They made us feel welcome from the moment we first arrived. We were greated with a fruit punch welcome drink while someone else took our bags up to the room. Every meal we had was tasty and well cooked, and all food and cocktails were served with a smile (and some banter). Thanks to Dylan, Donovan and Rodney for making our stay so great! And extra thanks to Dylan for taking time out on his days off to show us around his home island of St Vincent when we visited that island for a few days, we had a great day at Black Point.

Overall, a lovely hotel in a quiet location with top quality staff. Value for money is ok, what you get is great but the price tag is pretty steep. However, we think it was worth it!

Our stay at the Firefly Hotel on the unique island of Bequia was one of the most delightful events for us this decade.
I had heard that Bequia was essentially the true Caribbean but did not expect such a small island to offer a luxury hotel.
At the Firefly the service was excellent, the owners welcoming and fun, the food home-grown and delicious without being presumptious and the setting adorable.
I only wish we could have stayed longer. We will be back - soon!
Cheers Firefly!

I can't understand anyone that would complain about this place. The rooms and location are stunning. The staff (Rodney, Donovan and Keith) are exceptional and go out of their way to please. I am sure countless others behind the scenes are great as well.
We loved the accomodations.....the rooms are beyond generous and elegantly appointed. Food and drinks were delicious.
The organic food from the plantation was wonderful as was the organic wine chosen for the estate from S. Africa.
Definitely the most elegant place on Bequia and we felt good value for the money. Only regret is only staying 2 nights after a 7 day sailboat charter.
We are already planning/daydreaming about our next trip!
