5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2013

I stayed at the Imperial for one week in Feb and i have to give it a massive thumbs up.
All the staff are so helpful and friendly.
The beach and swimming pool are a geat asset, very enjoyable.
I had booked with breakfast included and that was truely a great way to start the day.
The hotel has a lovely vibe going through it, very relaxed and facilities are excellent.
Choeng Mon itself is a really relaxing place with some great little restaurants.
I so wish I could have stayed longer but hopefully next time.
I had travelled solo but I what I really noticed was that It would be a fabulous place to bring a family with kids etc, maybe next I will bring the family.
Ten out of ten for my overall stay here.
I definitely want to return.

Room Tip: Premier rooms are really a nice place to stay.

My first trip to Thailand, although my wife had been previously. I will admit I was little apprehensive but from the moment we landed at the airport I went into relax mode it has that charm.
A short ride and we arrived at the hotel and WoW we were immediately made to feel special. Doeke the manager treats you as an individual,a rare quality these days. The hotel is graced as 4 star but ALL the staff make it a 5 star experience they could not be friendlier and I mean all the staff. From the moment you go through the spacious reception area you are treated to the splendor of the mature gardens that take the eye for a ride.
The room on the second floor was beautiful and from the moment the door was opened we looked at each other and knew we had made a right choice, spacious well appointed spotlessly clean and a bonus it overlooked those magnificant gardens. This was a real treat to wake up to while the day was young.
Breakfast, not knowing what to expect I was concerned that perhaps there may be a small choice of what was available. How wrong I was, there is a choice for even the fussiest of people. In a word faultless.
The setting, we couldnt of asked for more, a short walk from our room through the superb gardens past the swimming pool shaped like a boat and onto the beach. Paradise.
I am not going to throw in any negatives because in our mind and the friends we travelled with, there werent any.
We chose to eat out in the evenings and there is an abundance of eating and drinking choices on the street at the front of the hotel, Orchids resturant must have a mention as they were so good, better to book a table.
Trips, we only did a few, as the hotel surroundings were so comfortable, however we did a boat trip to another island for the day which included snorkelling, brilliant day out not to be missed. You must take in the market at fishermans villiage a short ride away. The buzz of it was a new experience and again the Thai people always have a smile on their faces and at times, what a shame we cant import this to Britain, you will have a full evening of fun there with the bars, music etc.
Which leads me to once again highlight the fantastic experience of staying at the Imperial Boathouse. For us this was the best holiday we have had, this view is shared with the friends that travelled with us.Will we go back? Cant wait, watch this space.

Finally our thanks to Doeke and all the staff at The Imperial Boathouse for making us feel special. The service given must be the envy of the competition.

Dear Gerry,

Thank you for your wonderful review. It was such a pleasure meeting you and your compliments on the staff, the grounds, the room and the breakfast are really appreciated.
The team & I are happy to see you enjoyed the culinary scene of Samui and Fisherman's Village is indeed a nice place to go out to for a local experience. For you to refer to your stay as the 'best holiday we have had' is just a fantastic compliment and we are truly thrilled that we were able to assist in making you feel that way. It was our pleasure having you with us and we look forward to an opportunity to welcome you & your friends back again in the not too distant future.

We returned to the boathouse again and it never disappoints. We love the friendly staff and the comfortable feel of the hotel, for us it's like a home from home. The manager Doeke even arranged a game of golf for my husband Martin. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the food is excellent. The beach is fantastic - what more can you want?

We'll definately be back!

We stayed here for 12 nights from 31st January until 12th February 2013. We asked for a high room and were given one on the 2nd floor - the highest. We had already paid for the upgrade to premier before we arrived and the room was stunning. Huge super kingsize bed, massive bathroom with beautiful large deep bath as well as a separate excellent powerful shower. Small settee and table near to the door and then a huge balcony with 2 sunloungers. Fixtures and fittings excellent and a really large and bright airy room. Air con was brilliant until it broke one evening but the service was second to none. We rang reception at 1am in the morning when we got back to the room to report it and they sent someone within 5 minutes. It needed a part so we asked if we could move to another room just to sleep for the evening (it was incredibly hot while we were there!). This was done without question so well done Imperial Boathouse. We were accommodated in a superior room and I am so happy that we upgraded as these rooms are nowhere near the size or quality of the premier rooms; it was like being in another hotel - however, you get what you pay for! The air con was fixed by the time we returned from breakfast the following morning. The pool areas are beautiful. There are always the "bed reservers" and there were here. However, we never had any trouble getting a sunbed at any time of day and the hotel was full. The beach area is also beautiful and all areas are kept spotlessly clean. The breakfast was absolutely superb; so much choice and everything always fresh. We had a couple of lunches at the Captains Table and these were also beautiful. Cocktails at happy hour were also very good. The staff were without exception polite and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Cheong Mon is a great base for a holiday in Koh Samui. We alternated between a night in the village and Chaweng and Fishermans Village; 300 bahts to Chaweng and 400 to Bhoput. There are at least a dozen lovely restaurants in Cheong Mon itself plus 3 or 4 bars for drinks afterwards so plenty to go at. This is a fabulous hotel in a great location and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Pay a bit extra and book a premier room

Dear W & G,

Knowing that you normally never return to the same hotel twice, I could not be happier that you chose to return to celebrate your 1st wedding anniversary with us. It was my personal pleasure to welcome you back and the upgrade was just small touch. I've shared you warm words with Boon, Baw & Beau and they are most grateful. We really appreciate your nice comments on the restaurant and were happy to help with the airport transfer. We'll keep doing our utmost to make everyone happy, wish you many more happy years together and hope to be able to welcome you back again.

We were originally staying in an "executive suite" which was anything but executive!! Very basic and dull decorate decided to upgrade and looked at the honeymoon suite and boathouses, I would highly recommend the honeymoon suite much more luxurious, boat houses are big but filled with caravan furniture and a bit sparse! Pools and communal areas are lovely, clean and well maintained with very friendly staff.

Dear Danielle,

Many thanks for your review. The Executive Suite you're referring to was the Premier Room, so should you have been lead to believe that that room type was a suite, I fully understand your decision to upgrade to a Honeymoon Suite, especially as it was your honeymoon. The team and I sincerely appreciate your positive comments on the public areas and the staff friendliness. All of us hope to be able to welcome you back again one day in the future.

The hotel is located 10 mins. drive from Chaweng (hotel provides transfers: free during the day, and about 300 THB in the evening). The rooms are quite luxurious, but there 3 floors and no elevators. Staff is very nice and helpful - in truly Thai way. The food is very good, continental mostly.

The hotel has a private beach - heaven, once in a while you'll be bothered by local vendors though.
the service is a definitely 5 star grade.

The lobby staff helped us out on our way to the hotel: the taxis in the airport are tremendously expensive, so we've called the hotel in order to arrange a transfer which was 200 thb cheaper than the asked price

Dear Warlock,

Many thanks for your very nice review. The shuttle is indeed THB 75 per person in the evening (unless you've eaten dinner at our restaurant & show the receipt, in which case it's free for the 9 or 10 pm shuttle on the night of the dinner) and I'm happy to see you enjoyed your Premier Room, the staff friendliness/service, the food and that our staff was able to get you a good value for money transfer to the airport. Thank you for staying with us & we hope to be able to welcome you back one day soon.
