Got to this place using a Groupon voucher bought with friends. The resort's ambiance, cleanliness and comfort level impressed us. But the best thing about this place's the people. Everywhere in the resort that we went, the staff recognised us so things like table settings and pool towel/deck chairs, were set properly for us even before we asked. They have left a great impression of Thai hospitality on us.

Room Tip: If you can afford it, get a room which opens out into the pool. Will be great to be able to dive in for a swim as soon as you wake up.

My wife and I stayed at the Deva Samui resort for 4 nights in July-12 using our Cudo voucher. We were really impressed with everything. The flights coming in were smooth, we were picked up from the airport with no issues. Upon arrival, we were greeted with drinks and towels and the resort manager came out and greeted us personally which was very nice.

We originally booked for one of the direct pool access rooms, but was upgraded to a pool villa. The villa was very impressive, had our own personal pool and garden, it was very private. The room was very spacious and nicely furnished.

There are 3 pools in the resort, we mainly used the one in front of the beach as it was the best spot for sunset. The pools aren't that big but enough for a quick dip and a bit of tanning. Also the time when we were there the resort was pretty quiet.

In terms of food, we had breakfast every morning at the resort. The breakfast was nice, had a good selection of asian and western food by the beach. We had dinner there one night as well, it's a very nice view for sunset. I must say the food was pretty average but the staff were very nice and price is reasonable.

We had treatments at the resort spa twice, it was a pleasant experience both times. Prices are not exactly cheap but it was nice and convenient. I personally found it was better than the Tropical Peace Spa (Which is ranked #2 in tripadvisor) which I was quite disappointed with.

The down side:
- It is a bit out of the way from Chaweng or fisherman village. If you intend to go out every night then you'll probably need to get a taxi each time which costed us between 350-400 baht each time. There is a complementary shuttle from the hotel if the time suits you.

Overall we had a very nice stay, the only complain I have is there were 2 beach hats in the room which we thought were complimentary, which apparently are not. And we were questioned about them during checkout and had to return them in front of everyone, which was a little embarrassing. I really liked the hats but would have never taken them if I knew they weren't free. Perhaps they should make it a bit clearer in the future. So that in the end added a little sour note to our stay.

We were put up here by our original hotel which had some water and electricity problem and enjoyed our stay. The hotel is new and beach was beautiful. We liked the nautical themed design of the rooms, which were very clean, new and well-maintained. Good spread at breakfast as well (by local standards).

Our sleep that night was a little interrupted by some local open-air concert they were having and my husband who was a light sleeper couldn't sleep until 1am, when they finally ended.

Stayed here for the first 6 nights of our honeymoon at the end of June. We arrived from an early morning flight, and was slightly worried that we wouldn't get a room until 2pm, the check in time. Thankfully, the staff advised us that our room would be ready within the hour and invited us to sit down to breakfast. When we were taken to the room, we were impressed! We booked a deluxe room, which had a jacuzzi on the balcony. The room was huge! The grounds of the hotel were lovely. There is 3 pools, 2 of which are attached to a block of rooms for pool access rooms. The main pool is on the beach, and it's an infinity pool. The downside is that the beach isn't really a beach, its a man made harbour. The hotel has a spa, which we booked a package, which cost wise was on a par with prices here in the UK, but worth it. The staff were all fantastic, and only too happy to help. Breakfast was a buffet, and personally i thought it was nice. I liked the egg station!
The hotel is, unfortunately quite far from everything. Theres a 7-11 10 minutes walk down the road, but that's it. You'll either need to pay for taxi's everywhere or hire a scooter (which is very cheap) A taxi to Chewang is about 300 baht (£6) The WiFi is a bit hit and miss around the resort, but it's the same all over the island.
All in all, we loved the hotel, and we'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

My wife and I booked a five day stay at this resort and according to the advertising blurb it was something to experience. Indeed it was, after the impressive lobby we were led to our upgraded superior room which was a third floor concrete fitted room overlooking other rooms two meters facing our windows. The cushions on the lounge were filthy and we could not use the toilet as it was locked from the inside. A normal occurrence we were told. We asked for a refund but were refused by the manager of the resort, as we did not want to spoil our holiday with inferior and dirty accommodation we moved on. Research this resort carefully before committing to a stay.

Room Tip: Try Mercure Fenix 10 minutes down the coast and give this place a miss!
