We stumbled on this following a casual recommendation from a taxi driver. We travelled independently but it clearly is on the route for the circular taxi trips where drivers are able to promise beauty and good simple food. There were few visitors when we went on two successive days but there a few locals taking advantage of the location and shade beneath the grape trees that border the beach. The beach of glistening coral sand shelves into milky white waters, probably best suited to children who are reasonably confident in the water or able to be supervised. It's pretty safe though, just gets deepish quickly. The sun loungers look a bit expensive for a short stay but there is plenty of shady spots. The bay boasts a charming beach restaurant with a limited but interesting and tasty Caribbean menu, reasonably priced. Try creole prepared fish. Service is on the relaxed slow side, but use the time to go for another swim. Behind the beach is a lagoon for those interested in birds - waders, ducks, egrets, frigate birds, pelicans etc. a real treat, about 2k south of Jolly Harbour on the right and just past a ghastly looking double decker bus selling fish and chips!

Just a remarkably beautiful part of God's Earth! We spent several hours walking up and down the beach and ate at The Nest. There was help with umbrella's and chairs and simply the most beautiful beach that I have ever been to.

This beach is special....and coming from someone who has had a fare share of amazing beaches around the world....I do not say that very much. The water color is a baby turqouis that seems to go out endlessly...in fact when in the water, you can not even see darker water in the distance! The sand is powder white...almost bleach white. Shells to collect everywhere. But something I havent seen many comments about is the water itself. Yes it's cloudy (i guess shell dust that kicked up a long time ago).......but it allows you to float! I can't believe I havent seen more people mention this, nor it's NOT even advertised anywhere. I've been to the Dead Sea and floated there...and sure it's extreme. But this water is better, because it's not quite as strong for floating (and not oily like the dead sea)....but lean back, spread out your arms and legs...and you will float very easily. What a find! The beach itself is incredibly quiet for a world class beach, and feels like you have it to yourself! How can this place be possible, I do not know...but go before everyone else does.

We spent 9 days on antigua and found this to be our favorite beach by far after having had the opportunity to explore several from our base at sugar ridge. It gives the opportunity to mingle with friendly locals, and the vistas are second to none. The nest was also our favorite of the beachside restaurants/bars.

this deserted beach (as long as you go on a day with no cruise ships) is beautiful - a long walking beach with great local beach bar the nest for curried conch or fresh snapper
