Went here on a recommendation and we were not disappointed.

This restaurant is the sister to the Bodega Bandolero, also in La Cala, and specialises in fish dishes.

Situated on the Calle Ronda, a pedestrianised side-street in La Cala, the restaurant benefits from a quiet location affording street-level dining away from the busier beach and thoroughfares.

We dined for a light dinner and sampled some of the salads and starter dishes on the menu. The food was well-portioned and elegantly presented, delivered on slate tiles and dressed to a high-standard. It was also delicious! Between us we had the goats cheese salad, aubergines cooked in honey and peppers stuffed with black-pudding, whilst our 3 year-old ate the children's chicken nuggets and chips.

The only small issue we had was that the food was a little over-seasoned with salt, but this may seem like a normal amount to another person as we don't use salt in our home cooking, and it definitely wasn't a problem didn't affect the taste of the dish, it is simply our personal preference.

The wine and bread accompanying the meal were great, and the service was excellent and attentive.

I would recommend this restaurant for families, couples and groups. The chef is very good and you get a lot for your money, our bill was around €40, which I think is rather good for four dishes and two large glasses of wine.

We will dine here again.

We visited Chambel last year and because of the dish we'd had [Chicken Chambel], we returned for it this year. We both had starters [chicken wings and cod bites]. While the wings were tasty, the cod bites were out of this world. The cod was fresh and the batter on the "bites" was so thin and crispy. I would have had the bites alone for a main course they were so nice. Our Chicken Chambel, while nice wasn't as good as it had been the previous year. There was less cheese on it and it wasn't hot all the way through but it was still tasty. We would return here for the cod bites alone.

The service was excellent, the prices are good and the waiters were friendly and welcoming.
