Went here on a recommendation and we were not disappointed.
This restaurant is the sister to the Bodega Bandolero, also in La Cala, and specialises in fish dishes.
Situated on the Calle Ronda, a pedestrianised side-street in La Cala, the restaurant benefits from a quiet location affording street-level dining away from the busier beach and thoroughfares.
We dined for a light dinner and sampled some of the salads and starter dishes on the menu. The food was well-portioned and elegantly presented, delivered on slate tiles and dressed to a high-standard. It was also delicious! Between us we had the goats cheese salad, aubergines cooked in honey and peppers stuffed with black-pudding, whilst our 3 year-old ate the children's chicken nuggets and chips.
The only small issue we had was that the food was a little over-seasoned with salt, but this may seem like a normal amount to another person as we don't use salt in our home cooking, and it definitely wasn't a problem didn't affect the taste of the dish, it is simply our personal preference.
The wine and bread accompanying the meal were great, and the service was excellent and attentive.
I would recommend this restaurant for families, couples and groups. The chef is very good and you get a lot for your money, our bill was around €40, which I think is rather good for four dishes and two large glasses of wine.
We will dine here again.
