Crowne Plaza Hotel Brussels - Le Palace
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed September 2, 2010

The hotel has a history of more than a 100 years. I was surprised to find Wi-Fi and the possible latest technology in the hotel. Did not have an opportunity to use the F&B services. The rooms and service is pretty good. The best thing about the hotel is the location. Its bang opposite the Gaurd Du Noir Station and the important tourist visiting places. Truely recommed this hotel.

I booked as a IHG shareholder and I found the hotel excellent value. Quiet and conveniently situated for public transport. I would certainly recommend for business and leisure travel. My only complaint would be that it cost me Euros 27.50 for a very ordinary buffet breakfast, featuring horrible sloshy scrambled egg, compared to Euros 42 for an excellent three course dinner the night before! One poor value, the other excellent.

2nd stay, again very good, this hotel is better then most 5 star hotels I stay in in continental Europe.

Was upgraded, had a really nice room, and paid just about 100 euro a night for Bed & breakfast on a weekend, I could have stayed cheaper somewhere else but the value for money is soooo good, the breakfast is a real treat!

Was curious to see more of the hotel, and was shown around by AnneMarie, a true ambassador of the hotel. Their meetings facilities seemed superb, and the variety of bedrooms, well, there's something for everyone! Nice history of this old building to!

Real Gem, book it !

I'm writing this review from my hotel room, which i must say is huge! I was really skeptical with regards to booking the hotel, as i've never been to brussels, dont know the area and i'm travelling with my 22mth old son.

We arrived in Brussels at 10.20am and took a short metro ride to the hotel, imagine my delight when i found out the hotel was just outside the station. I got a 2 day metro pass (which i feel was a waste as i ended up walking everywhere and getting on the sightseeing bus).

The staff were extremely pleasant and despite arriving early our room was ready for us. My son was also given a complimentary finger puppet which i found touching. I will definitely come back to brussels and with hubby next time! All in all i enjoyed my stay at the hotel and i'm glad i heeded the advice of the people who have given earlier reviews.

I paid 90euros for a superior room and from what i'm reading seems to be pricey but it also includes the breakfast as well. I think it was worth it though, travelling with a young child i needed to feel safe and secure and i did at the Le Palace!

Our stay at Le Palace was very pleasant. We stayed in an Executive Room, which was spacious and tastefully decorated, with a nice view of the Botanical Gardens next door. The room had a large flat-screen TV and we were impressed by the big bathroom and separate toilet area. Also, the bed was very comfortable and the free WiFi was a great bonus.

The hotel itself is quite grand, with opulent features in the lobby. We didn't eat in the restaurant but the bar was lovely, with a great selection of drinks (not too expensive) and a contemporary style.

Staff members we encountered were very friendly and they spoke English well.

We thought the location was ideal: directly across from a bustling shopping mall and close to restaurants and bars. We walked to the Grand Place, which took around 15 minutes.

If we go to Brussels again, we wouldn't hesitate to stay at Le Palace. Thoroughly recommended!

This hotel has a very grand feel with lots of charm and character - the rooms have high ceilings, bay windows and large bathrooms. The free internet was a bonus, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is excellent but it is let down by its location - it is close to the shopping strip, but a fair distance from the Grand Place and other significant sights. It is however close to the metro and bus stops are right outside - so getting to the sights is not difficult.

Rooms are ok not lux - curtains don't blackout the windows completely. Free internet is a plus. Art deco theme. Location isn't great for tourists - far from Grand Place, the area is a no man's land with construction a Hilton and Sheraton nearby. Better to stay near the Grand Place since taxis in Brussels can be hard to come by.
