Crowne Plaza Hotel Brussels - Le Palace

I've stayed at the hotel for a short buisiness trip on December. Very close to "Nord" station (5 minutes walk) and about 1 km away from Grand Place. There is a metro station just outside the hotel.
The twin room seemed to me quite small, compared to other Brussels' hotels, but it was clean and cosy. Breakfast was delicious and there was a great variety of everything. The stuff was really helpful and polite. There is free WIFI, although the connection wasn't great. All in all it was a very good experience and I'll choose this hotel again.

Got back yesterday from a 2 day visit to the CPH and all four of us had a really good time.

We did wonder whether we would have to wait to check in but this wasn't the case and we were quickly sorted out and provided with our room keys.

Everywhere you walked you were greeted with a lovely clean smell, I don't know what it was but it smelt like clean washing.....or maybe Febreze....whatever it was it was very fresh.

After quickly unpacking we went out to see the Christmas markets and the landmarks of Brussels. Having been out for most of the day we decided to have a few drinks in the bar followed by dinner in the restaurant which was also very nice.

Breakfast was plentiful, ok maybe it could have been a little warmer but with scrambled egg, bacon, baked beans, different sorts of meats, cheeses, croissants, bread, cakes, yoghurt and fresh fruit there's not much else you could want. Oh and the fruit juices were lovely.

I have seen people complain a lot on this website about the carpet, the bathroom tiles, the fact that the bed is too soft, the room is tired etc. Well I beg to differ, yes the carpet is bright in the hallway but it's quirky; the room was huge, the bed very comfortable and everywhere is very clean which is one of the main things when you stay in a hotel.

One slight issue which I should have queried at time of checkout was that we appeared to pay twice for some drinks that we had in the bar on Saturday evening. We ordered some drinks and it turns out the other couple in our party paid for them at the bar and I paid for them the next day. Oh well I guess it was my fault for not checking.

We would return but probably not for a few years as we want to try Germany next year.

Room Tip: Choose a high room as it would be noisy lower down.

Dear Liza_Blackman,
Many thanks for your lovely review on our hotel and its services and amenities. It was a real pleasure to have been your host. We are using a special fragrance in our AC system in the public areas and on the floors near the lifts, which we change according to the seasons.
Thanks for your positive comments regarding our floor carpet. The hotel's interior design is based on Gustav Klimt and you'll find many "Klimt"design elements, all over our hotel.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience with your bar invoice - luckily this was solved on check out immediately, as it should be.
It would be our pleasure to welcome you back in a few years, when visiting the Brussels Xmas market again, and I also can greatly recommend you our sister IHG hotels in Germany for your next Xmas market visit.
Season's greetings

The is hotel is in a good but not great location. Very close to a very dodgy part of town, yet close to Rue Neuve and a good commercial street. Centre of town is about 15 minutes walk away.
Check in was smooth. Initial impressions of the room were good, but they really should tone down the environmental marketing. It was everywhere in the room. We know the real reason they want us to re-use towels/not have house keeping etc,.. is to keep their costs down. Why not just be up front and honest.
The good
- Room was nice and big
- AV system had internet for free.
- Breakfast in the morning was simple but good
The Bad
- Why don't rooms but power points close to the bed so we can charge our phones and have them close when the alarm goes off...?
- I heard my upstairs neighbours all night as the floor boards were creaky
- Was a very noisy reception with very loud music when I arrived. I couldn't have phone calls in the foyer, and needed to stand outside in the cold.

Dear wintercoat,
Thanks for taking the time to tell us about your stay. And I'm sorry to read, we didn't do all right and make it memorable. We are a "Green Globe" hotel and we do care about the environment, but based on your comments, I'll review the in-room collateral. Thanks for your remark on the power points near the bed. Apologies for the loud music when you arrived and that you had to go outside to call. That's not the normal situation. We had a problem with the installation, but as you experienced it was fixed quite fast. Also apologies for the creaky floor. Unfortunately, this is part of our 105 year old charming building.
It's nice to experience check in went smooth and you liked the room size, the free wifi and good breakfast.
Happy Holidays

We chosen this hotel because it's near to Brussels Noord railway station (only 600 m), metro station Rogier is just nearby. It's really 4stars hotel with comfortable quiet clean rooms, nice bathroom. There were tea and coffee amenities in the room, the maid changed towels everyday. Breakfast was so rich and tasty! We recommend this hotel to tourists. From Brussels Noord we travelled to Brugge and Köln. In the early morning before the check out our breakfast boxes were ready for us.

We visited Brussels for the Xmas market. We have never been before so did not known the location at all. The minute we entered the hotel we were impressed. It had an old world charm about it, but at the same time everything was very modern. The staff throughout our three day stay were very welcoming and helpful. Our room was very spacious and immaculately clean. Even the TV had a message welcoming me by name! The bar area was very cosy and staff friendly and helpful. The breakfast which was included was excellent. Lots of choices - hot and cold. The hotel was 10 minutes from the station and 15 minutes walk (through a main shopping area) to the Grand Palace where there are numerous bars and restaurants. The weekend was a real treat and we would definitely recommend the hotel and would stay there again if we visited Brussels again. So much more to see than just the markets. At times magical. Loved it all!

Room Tip: We stayed on the third floor and it was fine. The fitness suite (which we did not use on this occas...

We really enjoyed our stay at the Crowne Plaza Brussels. It was so clean, the rooms were very big by European standards. There were nice touches such as aromatherapy pillow spray and complimentary water and beer everyday. And cheap for what you were getting. It is within walking distance to all the attractions and the Nord train station. There is a great shopping street right across the street. Would definitely recommend this place and would stay again.
