“Clean, decent and functional”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 29, 2008

The hotel, as others have mentioned, is about a 15-20 minute walk from the Grand Place (down Rue Nueve which has really good shopping). In the other direction, Gard Noord (train station) is about a 10 minute walk- either through office parks or under a highway overpass and adjanct to the red-light district. I arrived at Gard Noord and couldn't convince the one taxi at the taxi stand to drive me to the hotel so I ended up walking and dragging my suitcases (this would repeat itself and I would just go to Gard Centrale and walk to the hotel from there, even as a single female traveling alone at night, because there were always crowds out and about).

The room was very modern, clean, and functional but small. There was hardly any space between the bed and the wall on one side and the built-in desk on the other. The bathroom fits only one person at a time. The layouts of the rooms/bathrooms vary, even on the HiltonHonors floor.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Free appetizers in the bar during happy hour.

Would stay again, there was nothing wrong with the hotel, but the issue about getting cabs from the Gare Noord was a big drawback.

We were booked by Gate 1 Travel at the Hilton Brussels City for 3 nights and were very pleased with our experience. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, our king room was very spacious, and the breakfast - GREAT! We weren't expecting custom omelets, belgian waffles etc. but that's what was included along with the usual breads, meats, cheeses, fruit and MORE! The location was also excellent. The direct train line from the airport stops at Gare du Nord - only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Also the Rogier metro stop is right across the street from the hotel. We were very pleased with our stay.

Booked this hotel through the Eurostar website as a package with the train for the Easter weekend. Having read reviews on here was wondering what it would be like but was pleasantly suprised by the whole experience.

We arrived at around 10am and our room was ready and we checked straight in, our room was really big with lots of storage space and really comfortable bed. The bathroom was fairly standard although it was impossible to use the shower without soaking the floor, but a few extra towels (which arrived at virtually the second I put the phone down to request them) soon sorted that out. We had a courtyard facing room which was very quiet. Overall feel is contemporary and relaxed with nice touches such as Easter eggs on the front desk and an Easter gift (choc eggs and biscuits from the Dandoy bakery) on Easter Sunday.

Hotel is in a perfect location with lots of restaurants nearby and close to tourist attractions. It's right next to Rogier metro station and a few mins walk from the Gare du Nord which was perfect for visiting Bruges and Ypres.

Hotel is ok, a three star Hilton, so some things cannot be on top notch hilton level. Unfortunatly the food and rooms are, but the staff is not.
In my previous job I arranged tall ravel for work colleagues in this hotel, and have been in a lot of trouble with the often grumpy staff. After various complaints of colleagues I decided to make a deal with another hotel, and leave this one.

The girls doing there internships are very helpfull and trying, but the older male staff (>50) members are simply not prepared to go the extra mile, and seem to be in continuous unhappy/grumpy mode.

Crown plaza next door offers the same facilities, same price and same location (in city centre, next to north station), but with free internet and cheerfull staff! Would recommend crown plaza.

This hotel is less than 10mins. away from the Gare du Nord, just walk towards the Sheraton skyscraper. At this Place Rogier you’ll find other business hotels like the aside Crowne Plaza Hotel or the adjacent Sheraton Hotel. Nice welcoming at the small lobby (they even borrowed me their Nokia cell-charger), and thanks to my gold card I was given a spacious business room on the 7th floor. The room offered a desk in the middle of the room with Wifi for charge, ironing set, inroom safe, sofa and a large bathroom with tub. The fitness center has some machines, a sauna, but everything nothing exciting. The breakfast is rich but is being served in a bare breakfast hall. At the Place Rogier you’ll find lot of restaurants, shopping malls and the Grand Place is just 15mins. walk away. You’ll also find a metro stop at Place Rogier.

I just come back after a 4 days stay at Hilton. Hotel is located near center (15 minutes walk to Grande Place), 300-500 m from Gare Nord. Over all experience was ok. I just have a comment about size of the rooms. I booked a standard double room and I found it quite small (initally I had an incredible small room - single use I suppose- but they change it after requesting it). Spotless room, breakfast excellent. I recommend it for business trips and less for leisure.
