The hotel is located right on the river and is based in a lovely Art Deco building. It is close enough to walk into the city centre but it is far enough out to give a sense of space. When the sun is shining the rooftop bar is a real gem!

Beautiful setting, good rooms with excellent staff especially Alfonso and Jorge.
Ladies in the restaurant can't do enough for you at breakfast. Would recommend, the view back across the river to the sea is stunning.

Having stayed at a Vincci hotel in Lisbon we selected this hotel for our 4 night stay. We arrived late in the evening but the receptionist, Paulo, made us feel extremely welcome and gave us lots of help on restaurant recommendations, taxis and train services.
The hotel was originally a fish market and has been converted to a modern comfortable unique design hotel.
The only small negative was that the room, whilst very clean and comfortable, had no outlook. Our particular room looked down on a small courtyard area used by ground floor rooms and some adjacent rooms only looked at a wall, just 2 metres opposite. But for a room which was only used for a short time this did not bother us too much.
The hotel is just across the road from the river and about 20 - 25 minutes walk from city centre but has buses and trams nearby, plus the red sightseeing bus stops opposite the hotel.
There is a nice little rooftop bar with a view across the river.

Its historic importance as the former fish market make the hotel interesting. We chose it because it was easy to park coming off the bridge without facing a drive thru narrow streets in hilly Porto, and it worked well for us. The room was comfortable and the staff were very accommodating and eager to respond to requests for more Nespresso pods and the like. As others have said, it's at least a 20 minute walk to the old plaza up river, or you can take the trolley out the front door, but that only runs into the early evening. It is a steep climb if you decide to go up from the hotel rather than along the river, and not very interesting. The breakfast buffet was extraordinary. We did not eat dinner at the hotel. Most important, it was quiet and possible to make the room dark for good sleeping.

This Art Deco style hotel is a very good choice for visitors arriving by car.The location is a few kilometers outside the centre and is situated on the Douro River with good views
The breakfast was extremely good with a varied choice. We had a delicious dinner in the restaurant one evening
Sightseeing bus stop was across the road, making it very convenient to get to the historic centre
We enjoyed our stay of 3 nights and would return.

Room tip: Ask for room in the front Ours overlooked an alley
