We took a metro from Trinidade station to Gaia and hadn't idea what was waiting for us. A magnificent view and surely unique. Walked back to Porto and that night we took the lower part og the bridge. Romantic, fascinting, unforgettable.

A great construction feat and ideal way to get across the Duoro to the port cellars.
The local kids are often seen jumping into the Duoro from the lower level, though I would never have the guts!
We crossed over to Vila Nova de Gaia with the traffic on the lower level, then crossed back over on the upper level after getting to the top by cable car.
The views are fantastic from the top level - though not suitable for those suffering from vertigo.
Would definitely recommend walking across on the upper level if you can stomach the height.

It is double and large bridge. It is near famous Rebeira area in Porto. There are many restaurants nearby which offer tasty seafood.

An historical spot well worth taking in. You really have a sense history of what built Oporto..

Wine/port down the river to the world especially Britain. The old boats are the only recognition which is such a shame.

Built by Gustav Eiffel! Cross the bridge and visit the wine cellars on the other side of the river. When you are on the bridge, you'll find some lochers, which were put there by young couples to comemorate their live and marriage.
