In a narrow street in the north of Porto a little bit out of town. The room was excellent light and well equipped with a modern bathroom; The staff were very helpful and there are some small cheap restaurants nearby

We recently stayed at Eurostars Das Artes four nights and enjoyed our stay so much that we rebooked after a short trip to another city. The rooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable and stylish. The reception staff went above and beyond to help orient us to the city and provide valuable recommendations and even to assist us with a future booking at another Eurostars hotel. Our first choice for hotels if available where we are travelling with now be Eurostars. Housekeeping staff friendly and efficient.

We stayed here for 3 nights. Rooms quiet, clean and comfortable. Wifi free, but very slow and not good coverage. Reception staff very helpful and the parking good. Recommended. Note, port wine tasting is better at the hotel than paid trips. The 40 year Noval excellent! Tasting menus of 3 large glasses for $11-13. Don't waste time or money visiting the port tastings, not value for money and not at all what we expected.

Just returned from a wonderful four day stay in Porto and our stay at the Das Artes was one of the highlights.

Our first time at a Eurostars property, but we were very impressed.

The location was very central to many of the sights and churches of Porto and a ten minute walk to Sao Bento rail station. It was also only five minutes away from one of the city's pedestrian only streets.

It is about thirty minute stroll to the waterfront and the port warehouses, but Porto is a fantastic walking city so this was not an issue.

Plus we found a few neighbourhood restaurants where we had a meal for two (cod, steak) with wine and beer for under 15 Euro total.

Their breakfast buffet was terrific - to the point we usually just had coffee and pastry for lunch as we were still pretty full.

Finally the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. One person in particular - and unfortunately I don't have his name, but he wore glasses, was a treasure trove of information and useful suggestions.

We enjoyed our stay at the Eurostars Das Artes Hotel. It was extremely clean and the staff was extremely kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. We were so happy to find the bathroom was a private, enclosed area, since we had stayed in a hotel room with an open bathroom prior to coming to the Eurostars Das Artes Hotel. We did not purchase the hotel's breakfast, but the little cafe directly across the street from the hotel's front door had the most delicious coffee and homemade bread! We enjoyed our stay very much!

Stayed at the hotel last month. Managed to book 3 nights for 200 euros - it was great value. Very clean and modern looking. Agree with other reviewers regarding the walk, but it's a walking city and was fun to get around on foot.

The only criticism I can offer is that the front desk, trying to help, directed us to a bus terminal on the map, instead of the main bus terminal, for a trip we planned out of the city. Turns out the map was wrong and no bus was ever going to arrive at the apparent terminal. Was a small twist in the day, but we still managed to have a great day in Porto. Would certainly stay at the hotel again.

We stayed here for four nights while visiting Porto. It was a little further walk from the historic downtown than our previous hotel, but not by much -- maybe a 12-15 minute walk to the heart of the old quarter. It was also a fair bit pricier, but we were just as happy. The room was huge, and so was the marble-laden bathroom (which had two sinks and two showers). The mattress was really firm, which I like, and the A/C was superbly quiet and efficient. Every detail had been thought of in the way the room was set up and stocked. All of the staff who we encountered were super helpful about directions, mail, dining tips, and other questions and queries. We didn't get a chance to eat at their restaurant, but it looked lovely, as did their back patio. (There are bakeries, coffee shops, and a supermercado all within a 2-minute walk, plus oodles of small, independent design / art / fashion boutiques and galleries).
This was one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in, and would love the chance to come back.
