What a great building! Its sharp lines, its whiteness, its light at night contrasting with the dark surroundings. What a magnificent piece of architecture. Built in 2001 by Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas, it stands as a beacon in the middle of one of your typical very Portuguese are of Boavista. The contrast between the rest of the buildings and the empty space where the house sits is phenomenal, specially at night. Once you get to visit the inside of the building you will feel tiny compared to the grandeur of the music. Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to attend any concerts when I visited, but I am sure the acoustics are great. Porto has surely many things to see, but the Casa da Musica was the most enjoyable moment of my trip.
