“Quirky 3-star in great location”
Reviewed August 16, 2012

Booked based on the promise of art deco, quirky, in a central location, and were not disappointed. Do pack earplugs if anything other than a heavy sleeper, and remember to ask for the airco remote. Our room was big and clean, and its old-fashioned style was what we signed up for. Bathroom was fine, with plenty of hot water. Staff all helpful and friendly, and spoke good English or French. Breakfast was fairly busy, but no problems (OK, the coffee was a bit rough, I stuck to tea!) All-in-all, based on a 2-night stay, absolutely fine for a 3-star "residential", decent value for money and enjoyably different.

My friend ended up in the hospital, and they took really great care of us. I did not have to worry about anything with regards to the hotel, and the extra nights staying.
I am very glad we stayed there!!!

The room was small and was NOT clean. The bathroom was tiny with poorly flushing toilet and the drain pipe was blocked. When we were out of room with opening windows in the afternoon, someone was into our room and closed the windows. There is air-conditioning, but you have to borrow its remote control from the staff. The breakfast was basic. However, the hotel was in a good location and the staff were really friendly and very helpful.

The hotel is in a good location. The rooms are big and very clean. The bed is not really good and the breakfast-room is too small.

Small room opening onto common terrace.
Tiny bathroom with poorly flushing toilet.
The furniture was old and one chair was broken
It appeared sometime since there had been a spring clean!
It was not particularly close to anything. Breakfast was basic.
It was however a lovely old building!

Room Tip: Terrace room

The hotel is located 5 mins walk to the train station, and 15 mins to the historic centre. Safe location. The hotel is a bed and breakfast. The rooms are really basic, tiny bathrooms, shower cubicles are very small, in general basic decor. However, it is clean, there is a lift, and serves the purpose if you want to limit time in the hotel, and use it as a night stop. Staff are friendly. The breakfast is also uninspiring, better to step out and grab some breakfast. There are several good places nearby. There is air-conditioning. The rooms on the sixth floor have a shared terrace, with some nice city, building views. Great place for a few glasses of wine in the evening.

Room Tip: Pick a room on the 6 floor, as these have terraces, which are great.
