I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Porto. The rooms are lovely, and in a perfect location - in an old part of the city with great restaurants but not directly in the tourist center. We stayed in Cartolina, which is on the top floor and has an amazing view overlooking the Se and the city. It was lovely enjoying our welcome drink of port on our balcony. In addition, the staff could not have been nicer, and we very much enjoyed their "local tips" and restaurant recommendations. Overall a great stay for a great price, though take note that they discourage single night bookings with a higher price (they prefer to have guests for two or more nights).

Room Tip: We loved Cartolina on the top floor - though not a good choice if you dislike steep stairs.

We stayed at Casa dos Caldeireiros in the Patio room for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel has retained it's historical features but has been renovated to a modern and comfortable standard. The best feature of this room was indeed the patio which offers the most stunning view over Porto and is the perfect place to unwind with a glass of port or wine and take in the view.
The hotel manager, Sonia, was very helpful and friendly with advice on restaurants, sightseeing etc. and obviously takes pride in maintaining the high standard of the hotel, including cleanliness, comfort of guests and availability to answer queries.
The hotel is very central to the best parts of Porto. It is located on a steep street but most of Porto is on a hill so visitors will just have to exercise their calves! We'd definitely stay again.

Booked the Torres room as only one available. Stairs +++ after steep steep walk up the street. But oh my, the reward.

Totally fell in love with our room in the rafters. The view, I will forever dream about, you even shower with a view.

We even had fireworks to enjoy at midnight for Liberation Day.

It is like your own little secret apartment. Loved every minute we spent there.

Sonia is so bright and welcoming.

Porto is lovely, the street is charming and the climb up is full of rewards.

Loved it.

We were most fortunate to have the main floor room.It was a cozy suite for 2 with small kitchenette that included a cook top, fridge, coffee maker. The bathroom has a big shower and heated towel racks. We had a beautiful balcony that looked out over old Porto and the Duoro. It is centrally located around the corner from Centrigos Tower which gives you a great landmark to find your home. There are lots of restaurants nearby. The manager,Sonja, is very helpful and friendly and speaks English. The owners have spent some money on renovations recently and have done a good job. I would stay there again.

We went to Porto last September 2016. We were greeted by Sonia who is always available, she will give advices on what to visit, on restaurants, how to get anywhere, basically anything you need with a big smile. We booked Patio room. No steep stairs to climbed, a rather small room but with everything we could need. Great historic "feel" with original stone walls and wooded ceiling. And of course, the greatest view of all, the Sé cathedral and the houses of the Ribeira Unesco right in front of your BIG terrace. A glass of wine/porto in your hand, sitting on that terrace enjoying magnificient Porto... you think you are Day dreaming. Recommending this place all the way.....

Room Tip: Patio room has a fabulous view, a really big terrace and NO stairs to climbed.
