Joanna was our guide for the Historic food tour of Porto! She was so well versed and fun. The stops were varied....grocers, coffee shop, restaurants,.....all little neighborhood places we would never find on our own. The pace was great(4 of us were senior citizens!) allowing enough time to relax at the various stops and the distances were easily managed. The food varieties were wonderful allowing ample samples of native food along with her expertise explanations! Go do it!

We had the great fortune to take the Vintage Food Tour with André. While the tour was crafted perfectly and the food was great, it was André's passion and enthusiasm that made this tour so incredible. We were completely captivated by every little detail André had to share - from the origin of food traditions to the history of the city. I cannot recommend this tour enough!!

What a great morning and so filling! Our guide was incredibly passionate about the his home culture and foods. In addition, you tasted a wide variety of foods. I loved how each shop had a little back area/room set up for us so that we had a little privacy and could hear the explanations.

My wife and I took the Vintage food tour. True to its name, it focuses on traditional foods and wines, as well as traditional vintage shops in Porto.
There were 5 other participants, so the tour was small, and we were joined by Carly, one of the founders of the company, who was along to do a bit of "quality control" on the places we stopped.
Each stop was a nice little look into Porto food and wine, from the oldest grocery store in town to a new and trendy wine shop, with wines that would be difficult to impossible to find in the States. There was enough food and wine to serve as an evening meal, but spread out over the 3.5 hours we never felt stuffed or tipsy. We enjoyed every offering and there was enough variety to ensure even moderately picky eaters would come away happy.
Our guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He communicated easily with all members of the group and made sure to interact with different people on each walk between stops. Because we had the added participation of Carly, who's interaction with the group makes it clear why she's in the industry, we didn't get a chance to see Sergio take full control of the tour. That's no complaint, just an observation.
Since the Tour ran 4PM to past 7, it wasn't at a busy time, and in a number of the stops we were the only people present. Each establishment was well prepared for us.
It's obvious these people love their city and culture, and are happy to share it. Come prepared to eat, drink, talk and learn. Ask questions and support their partners.
