Service was very welcoming and kind. A bunch of my friends had all lost their room keys and they gave us new ones without any attitude.

Rooms were amazing, I left a bunch of money on my bed since I was in a rush and when I came back, ALL of it was placed back into my wallet on the table.

Breakfast is to die for, so good.

Great hotel, you won't be disappointed.

Stayed for five nights with my wife between visits to Lisbon and Florence. Our receptionist could not have been more welcoming and all the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. We got some great tips on places to visit and eat (Matosinos for seafodd) and overall, we were very impressed. We had a minor problem with electrics in our room but it was fixed by an electrician within ten minutes of reporting it. The nearest metro station involves a 300m walk.

Modern ,pleasant and comfortable rooms with excellent bedding and bathroom facilities.
Housekeeping is efficient, pro including for the evening turndown service.
Front desk staff was courteous ,effcient and advised us some good restaurants and shopping areas.
The breakfast was the best part of our stay as it is served in the main elegant restaurant with tables covered with white napkins and as the buffet is remarquably fresh, with a wide range local products for all tastes.
Excellent lobby lounge bar with good music and a relaxing terrace.
However, we were VERY disapointed by the club lounge:in fact ,there is no 'lounge' as such:
it is a converted conference room just with a few tables, chairs and two pc desks....and a buffet with drinks and snacks....the problem :during our 2 nights July 2010 stay at around 20 PM ,the 'lounge' was abandoned by the f/b staff .No staff to clean the tables or to replenish the drinks and snacks; and yes!.......some playing kids transformed the 'lounge' into a...devastated war zone!
Parking is free for club floor rooms .
The interior swimming pool ,part of the SPA accessible at a fee (unless you book a summer package) looked gorgeous.

Welcoming hotel, friendly staff, especially the guest services team. Rooms were spacious and well equiped, large, clean bathroom with a good strong shower and the breakfast buffet was excellent (although quite pricey). The spa was wonderful, with various 'heat experience' rooms and a huge water jet / jacuzzi pool, but a shame that you had to pay €10 even if all you wanted was to use the hotel swimming pool. Liked the bar and the external seats, especially the bean bags. Nice, quiet position, but the metro was a decent 10 - 15 min walk away and a taxi to Gaia €10.

We stayed here for 4 nights and we loved it. The staff make you feel so welcome (they give you a guidebook of porto with everything you need in it including discount vouchers for the best restaurants) and special and the rooms are gorgeous with the best bathroom and beds ever we slept in until twelve one day because they were so comfortable. The location of the hotel is perfect for everything, you can hop straight on the metro in the airport (violet line) and get off at Francos (every metro stops here) and walk five minutes up rue tenete valadim and the hotel is on the left. we used the metro into and out of the city a couple of times a day and it takes about 5 minutes to get to the centre, the bus stop is also five minutes away and you can get the 202 straight to the beach (ten mins). We ate breakfast in the hotel 2 mornings and although it is pricey it is fabulous and has everything you could want. The restaurant also has a lunch buffet which is good value at 20.50 per person the food is amazing right through from starters to desserts so would definitely advise trying this. The spa is also brilliant and well worth the ten euros to try it so relaxing.

Firstly, it should be applauded that a high-class, 5 star business hotel should be within budget of the every day traveller. We booked the Sheraton for 7 days through Hotels.com (long stay discount + 10% off code) for £450 and were given a spacious second floor room complete with en-suite, large bed and writing desk.

The hotel isn't ideally situated for the old town but the Porto public transport is first rate (save for the Yellow bus tour which was truly useless) and it is easy to get around. There is a bus stop situated less than 5 minutes walk away from the hotel and buses are regular both into central Porto and towards the coastline. The location of the hotel really is what you make of it and some attractions are close by. Travellers shouldn't be afraid to use local transport as it is timely and reasonably priced.

Now the downside - this is a five-star hotel and, for those of us not on expenses, anything over and above the room is very expensive. 18 EUR parking per night, 20 EUR breakfast per person, expensive restaurant, cover charges in the hotel bar, 10 EUR per person to use the swimming pool (!). For the budget traveller, there are ways and means around this: the supermarket "Pingo Doce" is less than five minutes walk away from the hotel if you don't want to remortgage to use the minibar, free parking is available (Rua Antonio Cardoso - if you look hard enough) and breakfasts are available at nearby bars and cafes on Av. Boavista for less than 3 EUR (coffee/orange juice + croissant). The hotel breakfast is buffet-based so worthwhile if you have a hearty appetite, otherwise choose a local cafe. For restaurants, there are plenty around the Porto Palacio hotel (Av. Boavista again) either in a cafe bar style (Portobeer) or situated indoors ( Góshò - Japanese restaurant, Grappa - Italian restaurant)

We enjoyed a great stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone that doesn't suffer from the temptation to use the in-house facilities!
