I found Mercearia Das Flores on TripAdvisor originally when looking for a place to try craft beer in Portugal. Not only did they serve delicious Sovina beer, but they also had a fabulous menu filled with cheese and meat plates, toasts, sandwiches, pâtés and desserts. Although the menu isn't huge, I felt overwhelmed to make a decision because everything sounded amazing. The two of us opted to share the cured meat and cheese tasting plate, which was served with small warm toasts. We also shared a toast with cheese, piri piri jam and salad and for dessert the sheep's milk cheese with fig syrup. We were not at all disappointed and in fact, if I lived in Porto I would go here all the time -- if not to eat, to browse their lovely selection of local fish pâtés, olives and wine for sale. The service was warm and friendly, as was the interior decor. I suggest visiting Mercearia Das Flores if you want to try some artisan cheeses in Porto and find something better than the over-priced tourist spots!
