Owner description: Clérigos Tower is the foremost undisputed landmark of Porto and a reference in the city's history. Clérigos Tower opened its doors in 1763, becoming the highest bell tower of Portugal, with over 75 metres. In 1753 the Italian architect Nicolau Nasoni was invited to design and build this magnificent Heritage, considered National Monument since 1910. The famous church was built in the eighteenth century, between 1732 and 1749 and this was the most emblematic work of the architect Nicolau Nasoni. Is one of the most beautiful temples of baroque feature, and a reference in the history of Porto. The Exhibitions allow to discover the history of the Brotherhood of Clérigos, admire pieces from the eighteenth to the nineteenth century, in painting, furniture, jewellery and vestment collections. Christus collection, on the 3 floor, is a trip through time and space where art and religion complement each other.

“Bird's eye view of the city”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2012

A spectacular view on the city roofs. Quite a high elevation with several interim view spots. The top spot gives you a great 360 view on the city.

“Clerigos Tower in Porto, Portugal”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 8, 2012

While it is one of Porto's symbols, it is of limited interest. Because of the overhead wires and etc., you couldn't take decent photos of the tower.

“very good view for the fit and agile”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2012

cheap to visit (just a couple of Euros) with a very nice view from the top. Very tight staircase with many steps - not sure what it would be like with dozens of tourists heading up and down. Pop into the church next door also - a nice experience in what feels like a 'proper' church

If you take the time to climb to the top of Clerigos Tower you will be well rewarded by the views across Porto.
