Like many Portuguese restaurants you arrive in a drab street with an unassuming shop front. Open the door and you find a large well laid out room. I'm told their's a great terrace but in April a little chilly.
Service is superb and helpful and the usual huge portions are provided. The owners wife was very helpful. We started on game sausage where one helping was enough for two. Interesting but not great. This was followed by roast veal for two in a casserole with potatoes and served with cabbage and rice. Too much but very tasty indeed.
The highlight was pudding: miminhos made by the owners wife which was delicious and one portion was enough too.
In summary good portuguese cooking at a reasonable price.

Porto is known as a city of great restaurants. But few are so well received and served as in Casa de Pasto Adega Ribatejo.
I recently went there with my girlfriend and was once again fantastic, dinner on the terrace of the restaurant makes the meal even better.
Taste the cod! ;)

We had been recommended this place by the hotel whose previous tips had proved reliable. The room is quite old fashioned but charming. The staff are very friendly. We had the cover, cheese, bread and olives which was fine. We ordered from the menu but the food was not really to our taste. My husband had grilled salmon which was fine, but the other meals were not quite as we expected. The medallions of pork included intestines, blood and various other parts of the pig. When we asked the waiter he confirmed thats what they were and that they use all of the animal. So not just the medallion part. Okay probably our fault for a wrong choice. My veal was a bit chewy although the potatoes and rice were nice. There was a choice of desserts which were okay especially the cheesecake. We had a vinho verde wine which was fairly priced. Coffee followed and we ordered two glasses of port. When the bill came we were very surprised to be charged E.15 which was frankly exorbitant. I know restaurants have to make a profit on alcohol but those two glasses cost us more than we would have paid for a bottle of the same port, Grahams, in the UK. A very average meal with no starters, four mains, three desserts, wine and three coffees including the two ports came to E.100 which was poor value for what we had.

Very friendly and pleasant outdoor patio where one can enjoy the best the portuguese cuisine has to offer and all accompanied by their tasteful choice of wine!

One of the best restaurants of Porto
A place with great taste, supurb food and Portuguese hospitality makes Adega do Ribatejo, a restaurant of traditions and generations.
The outside area is one of the best places to dine outdoors in Port
I strongly recommend to all who want to enjoy an excellent moment of happiness in a table!
