To be honest, the restaurant is located far off the beaten path. But nevertheless it is worth to pay a visit.
If you're looking for authentic and delicious food and want to spend an evening with one of the friendliest guys in Porto, I strongly recommend to stop by.
We went there as our reception lady at the hotel recommended to do so. First impression was, it looks like a university cafeteria. Don't be irritated by the first impression, it is far more than that.
We were asked to chose the table and the first dish was already on the way. A home made cheese (Requeijão) which was prepared by the owners husband. A must have! After we started the first course the waiter already came up with a recommendation for a starter and the main course. We chose the sautéed mushrooms and bacalao, which is the typical Portuguese dish. No doubt it was one of the best fish dishes I had. The size of the dish is absolutely sufficient for two people and the price is moderate. We went home happy and well fed! After this experience we decided to return two days later and once again went home satisfied and happy!
So please don't waste your money in some tourist oriented restaurant, but do yourself a favor and give you a treat. Try and see for yourself and visit this place.
