To be honest, the restaurant is located far off the beaten path. But nevertheless it is worth to pay a visit.
If you're looking for authentic and delicious food and want to spend an evening with one of the friendliest guys in Porto, I strongly recommend to stop by.
We went there as our reception lady at the hotel recommended to do so. First impression was, it looks like a university cafeteria. Don't be irritated by the first impression, it is far more than that.
We were asked to chose the table and the first dish was already on the way. A home made cheese (Requeijão) which was prepared by the owners husband. A must have! After we started the first course the waiter already came up with a recommendation for a starter and the main course. We chose the sautéed mushrooms and bacalao, which is the typical Portuguese dish. No doubt it was one of the best fish dishes I had. The size of the dish is absolutely sufficient for two people and the price is moderate. We went home happy and well fed! After this experience we decided to return two days later and once again went home satisfied and happy!
So please don't waste your money in some tourist oriented restaurant, but do yourself a favor and give you a treat. Try and see for yourself and visit this place.

Went 2 times-I had so much faith in Tripadvisor that I assumed mediocre first visit was "off day" or we made poor ordering choices . But second visit was worse. Dry overcooked duck with rice. In one dish, cheese on top cooked at too high a temperature so instead of melting onto dish, it formed hard tasteless leather like crust.

My wife and I have been very pleased with a succession of wonderful dining experiences in Lisbon, Sintra and Porto, but this was the best. In addition to being excellent, the food seemed (and I'm confident was) genuine non-tourist-concocted Portuguese fare. There is no real ambiance to speak of (at least indoors, where we ate - I didn't see the garden or patio that other reviewers refer to), but the high percentage of actual Portuguese diners compensated for that.

At entrance it look no better then a plane coffee shop but don't bee fooled dinner in the garden is a splendid adventure! Even the so called Jamie Oliver had dinner here. Great local food and a great and warm service is key to a wonderful evening. Even the prices are cheaper than Jamie would expect.

The server was very kind and told us to only order one main dish, and it was plenty. He also recommended one of the cheaper wines on the list to match. The food was great and their dessert was excellent. We returned a few days later to try other dishes. This time, the same server led us to the patio in the back, as it was very warm. With vines overhead, it is very cool and peaceful (only a few diners that night). The food was once again delicious, and it was a great last dinner in Porto.
