“Large entry hall with tiles”
Reviewed July 21, 2013

The entrance hall of the station is large and the walls are all tiled to show the history of Porto. Better than the usual functional stations and worth taking time out to look at. Note, if you are buying tickets, the ticket office is to the side of the main hall. You must get a number from a machine as you enter the ticket office, there are options to select depending on the type of ticket, and then wait for your number to come up on the screen, directing you to one of the ticket desks. Service was very good.

“Rich decorated with tiles”
Reviewed July 19, 2013 via mobile

The entry hall is v. striking with historic scenes, mostly of battles, presumed to have importance in Portugal's past. Something to see.

“One of the most beautiful and authentic railway stations in Europe”
Reviewed July 15, 2013

This train station was close to our hotel so we tried to pass it as much as possible since it was that stunning. The tiles tell a great story about the anciant hostory of Porto. Don't just walk by but really take your time to look at the pictures. If you are lucky you'll pass a local who will be happy to tell you the story behind it.
