“Great place to have lunch for a low price”
Reviewed May 14, 2013 via mobile

We went there to have lunch, and ordered the menu of the day. For only 5.50 euro we got a very tasty 2 course meal with the choice of meat or fish. The owner is very friendly. Excellent place to have a good affordable lunch! (Mondays they're closed though)

“LOVELY FOOD”
Reviewed May 13, 2013 via mobile

A bit of a walk to find, but worth the effort...we ordered the mixed grilled meat platter for two and it was divine....pork, chicken, 4 different sausages, beef and ribs, together with lovely smashed potatoes.....it was drowning in oil and heaps of sliced garlic, but surprisingly wasn't overpowering....as is the standard practice in Portugal, some bread and a lovely tuna pâté with fresh sliced bread was put down (at a cheap cost) to nibble on....if u don't want to pay for it, request it be removed.....a nice bottle of red accompanied the meal...the husband/waiter was run off his feet as the restaurant was full...though he remained cheerful and friendly to all guests...he reminded us of Manuel from Fawlty Towers....highly recommended

“Average”
Reviewed May 12, 2013

I went to this restaurant after having read the other reviews on Trip advisor, and I have to say I was a bit disappointed. Despite the menu outside saying they had Francesinha, when we ordered it they say it wasn't on. We then attempted to order the Schnitzel, which they also didn't have! So finally we ordered steaks, which were very average, and came with crisps, which we found very strange. The dessert was also very plain. Having said that, the service was excellent as there was only 1 man serving the whole restaurant, which was full, and he was very quick, attentive and helpful.

“delicious and authentic”
Reviewed May 11, 2013

My husband and I came here for lunch, thanks to a suggestion from Emma of blue dragon segway tours. This is a great restaurants where the wife cooks and the husband is the waiter. My husband got the plate of the day which was only 6 or 7 euros and it had some incredibly fresh fried fish, a salad, and soup. The fish were so crispy. I got the bacahlau which had breadcrumbs on top and came with some lovely sauteed veggies and potatoes. For dessert we had delicia de bolacha. You must try this dessert. It comes in a little jar and it's the tastiest dessert of whipped cream mixed with cake or cookies or some sort of deliciousness. We LOVED it! We discovered this place towards the end of our stay in Porto, otherwise we would have come here more than once! This is definitely a must! Yum!

“Best in porto!”
Reviewed May 8, 2013 via mobile

Amazing amazing amazing! Excellent food, perfect service, affordable price. We had the most incredible grilled octopus, dorado, salad, a bottle of wine and a dessert to share (you should def leave space for delicia de bolacha- best dessert I've ever had!) and paid just 33 euros.
The service is very nice and friendly.
Portions are very generous, even compared to other similar Portuguese restaurants
