We were put onto this place by a local and it was seriously good! I highly recommend eating here and get at least 2 sandwiches!

“Typical place and food!!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2014

Voted like one of the most typical place in Porto, "Casa Guedes" offers the best sandwiches (SANDES) of the city. The place is very rustic and the food is homemade. I suggest the "Sande de Pernil" (Sandwich of roasted pork with sauce). It isn't a place for lovers of fine cuisine or total hygiene, but it is highly recommended to anyone who wants to know the heart of Porto.

“Pork Sandwich Perfection”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 30, 2014

Sandwich aficionados looking for a local alternative to the overloaded Francesinha; look no further. This unassuming joint dishes up an utterly delicious masterpiece on bread known as Sandes Pernil. The absolutely perfect roast pork is carved at the bar and paired with a strong yet creamy local cheese on a lightly toasted bap. The only way to improve on this sandwich is to order two. Doesn't get any better.

Great pork sandwiches (available with Portuguese mountain cheese as well). Outside sunny terrace. Cheap and really good meal

“Pork sandwich with cheese”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 8, 2014

Best pork sandwich I have ever had. Tender roast pork, crispy artisan bread, ripe cheese that was melting at room temperature before it was put in with the hot meat and toasted bun.

Restaurant is messy, casual, very popular and open late.

NOT expensive, perfect for an after bar feast.
