We booked into the Mercure centro in Porto at the last minute due to not being able to get to Maderia for our holiday there. It is a great location, really central to most of Porto. The room is marvellous, we were upgraded to what seems like a suite! The room is clean and airy, windows open fully and there are sliding shutters if you want to block out the light. The TV is big enough even I can see it! On top of that when my husband was taken ill in the middle of the first night they calmly arranged for a doctor, taxis and everything else we needed. I am so impressed and thankful, they have rescued what has been a nightmare holiday thanks to easyJet.

the hotel rooms are very nicely done up. very modern and chic. the location is also very central making it easy to move around on foot. the check in process was easy. very helpful staff who guided us around too.

Basic hotel at the back of the station. Smallish rooms well decorated. Our stay was ruined by teenagers drinking and socialising in the corridor at .... on the sixth floor there is a common area. ..5am till 7am!

Central location but it is in a run down square which seems to have seen better days. We spent one night and it was adequate. Nice attentive staff but average hotel

I would not recommend this hotel as a place to stay. Found the location of the hotel was fine, however the staff were not very friendly or helpful they seemed uninterested maybe they were fed up of tourists, no excuse
Room was small noisy from the street and other rooms, extra fees and charges are exorbitant, hotel is way over priced compared to what else is in the area, I checked
I would not recommend this hotel

Great location, great staff (they gave us some good tips for dinner), pretty good breakfast, good shower (even though in bathtub..) - horribly hard beds unfortunately, didn't sleep much in the end due to this.
