Armazem do Sal is not anoung the cheapest restaurants in Porto. The view of the river and the bridge are fantastic but what makes this place amazing is the music. In June 2013, there ws a femail vocalist who sang Portuguese as well as English songs. She was worth the visit to this restaurant.
I am not sure if we were there on an unlucky night or if the food was just plain mediocre. The plates are large so dont go for too many starters and if you don't like what they put on your table the minute you arrive (cheese or cold cut platers), you can send it back. I had the beef in mushroom sause but as the plater was placed in the oven it was slightly burnt on the sides, the beef was dry the rice was crunchy and the boild vegetables shrivelled. We also had the bacalao which again was over-cooked. In all the restaurants we went to we had the house wine which was always bottled- a local wine- of great taste and quality. Not here. the caraffe of white we ordered was very just drink-able.
Would I come back here? Not sure. Despite the bad food, I enjoyed the ambiance though it may be classified as a tourist trap..
