“Restaurant for a fast bite”
Reviewed September 9, 2012

Good if you want to grab a fast bite, but is very noisy and confusing.
And if you go at 13:00, probably it will take a bit longer because there are a lot of people that have there lunch on working days.
Here you can find the typical Oporto's "francesinha", but I don't like it so I can't tell if it's good or not...

“I hope you're hungry”
Reviewed August 30, 2012

We visited Cufra a couple of times during our stay in Porto and were really impressed both times. It’s where the locals go to eat with their families which probably the best recommendation I can think of.

Cufra isn't really near anything but is a good option if you’re visiting Jardim de Serralves – it’s only a short walk away.

The food here is hearty and homestyle – meat-heavy and in big serves. There’s very little chance you’ll walk out of here hungry. Also, it's really good value.

The second time we went I had a dish I can’t even remember the name of. Think of a spicy steak tartare seared on the outside and topped with jamon. It was incredible and quite unlike anything I’ve ever had. They’ve got some cooks on staff who really know how to cook a piece of meat.

The burgers here are great too and friends were really happy with their salads, omlettes and seafood.

However, being that it’s really meat-centric it can be a little tough for vegetarians. There's a couple of options there.

They don’t speak a lot of English here but don’t let that put you off – the staff are great, if a little gruff (in a good way!).

This is not the most elegant place you can eat in Porto but it's probably the most satisfying.

“Excellent all-round Portuguese food restaurant”
Reviewed March 22, 2012

Do try the "Francesinha", Porto's typical sandwich in spicy sauce. It's probably the best in the whole city.
The restaurant has 2 distinct areas. Do ask to be on the left side, with the red couches, it's the real Cufra experience.
Very nice service - same employees (lots and lots of them) for a huge number of years.

“My favourite in Porto”
Reviewed March 3, 2012

I go there almost every week.
At good prices you can find wide range of food (typical portuguese dishes, the best francesinha imho, snacks, great seafood and the best crab ("sapateira").
Nice atmosphere, full of locals and good service...you will love it for sure
