“A very good place.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2014

An excellent hotel. You have to get used to the special 'theatre atmosphere', with a lot of curtains and dimmed light. The rooms are spacious and clean. The breakfast buffet is elaborate, and a special attention for good fruit. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated on a walking distance from all the interesting places and the Duoro.

Very creative design, worth visiting. Very cetral location, helpful staff, good breakfast, generally a good place to stay for tourists. Not everyone might like the rather dark (although interesting) interiour, and some technical problems need to be looked at (quite some water leaked from the shower).

Teatro is located 10mins from the river front and has an amazing location and staff. The rooms are quite spacious and modern. The hotel has a very "Art Deco" style and might not be for everyone. But if you want a comfortable bed, nice baths and great breakfast. Teatro is the place for you.

Room Tip: Bathrooms don't have doors and in some rooms showers don't have any privacy. If you are a c...

Designer hotel that chooses to be like the inside of a theater. It is quite well done and clearly much thought was put into the design process to make it feel like a theater. Unfortunately much less thought was put into making it a comfortable hotel. Little things like a place to hang your towel or put your wash bag in the bathroom are missing.
My wife especially didn't like the fact that all the common areas have very subdued light, and the hallways are quite dark.
The people are really nice and the service very good. The location is also very good. The rooms at the front (we had 503) are a bit noisy.

Room Tip: The front rooms are noisy.

The hotel Teatro is a hotel for people who want something a little different but with very high quality. The hotel is perfectly situated right in the centre and walking distance of the main attractions. the Santa Catarina (shopping area) is only 5 mins walk as is São Bento railway station and the red bus stops.
The hotel design is based on a theatre and the lightling is a little subdued, but it all ads to the character. The bar area and restaurant offer an excellent selection of cuising and wines and the staff are extremely friendly, professional and helpful.
This was our first visit to the hotel, and it will certainly be our first choice when we return.

We had two nights at Teatro . Extremely comfortable room and very clean.
The location is very good, just central in a walk distance from most of the turistic locations. All downtown is very well connected with the metro, this hotel too. Wifi is ok. Very good breakfast, with sparkling wine! Every staff member we had any interaction with were friendly and profesional !!!

I spent two nights in the Hotel Teatro while on a business trip to Porto early April. The hotel reception is very dark but completley different to any hotel i have ever stayed in, The decor is very theatrical but to high standard.the lighting in the corridors is real stage lighting tripped by movement sensors as you walk along,The hotel staff are helpfull nothing is a problem and dress in costume.
I would highly recommend this hotel if you want change from the usual chain hotels.

Room Tip: Close to city centre and quality resturants.
