Hotel ideally located close to the metro station which you can use if coming from/to the airport. It's also close to the city center. You can also take the metro to see all the city and the metro is very cheap.
Good rooms and good breakfast. Helpful staff. Would definitely recommend.

I was glad I didn't listen to the negative reviews of this hotel, in the end I booked it because the price was good and the location looked fine. I arrived not expecting too much (I'd looked at lots of pretty hotels for more than double the price) and was pleasantly surprised, the rooms are nice and quiet and the bar is a pleasant place to hang out, the best things are the breakfasts (really amazing) and the location is really great for seeing Porto. It was also comfortable and clean and the staff were polite and helpful. The only negative thing I could say was that the wifi didn't work in the room but we used it in the communal areas and it was fine. Unfortunately it rained and was foggy during our stay so we didn't check out the terrace, I'd like to have seen what views were on offer given that the hotel is up the hill from the city.

A super easy access to the hotel. The hotel is situated just in front of Trindade metro station, which is super useful for people travelling from the airport. It takes around 30mins, but mind you the metro to/from the airport runs every 20-30mins but is direct and you can´t really ask for more.

The hotel staff is attentive and nice. The guy spoke at least 3 languages, which I always find impressive. The lobby is small, but nicely designed. From the entrance you feel special. They welcome you with a porto drink you can pick up from the hotel´s bar.

The room was of a modern design and a good size, we were travelling in a group of 3, so one person had to sleep on the additional bed. The beds were comfortable and the linen fresh and crisp. The bathroom was clean and had a good shower.

The hotel is located a bit apart from the main attractions but being able to get to the airport from the hotel in only 30minutes wins it all.

One tip: ask for adjusting the heating because our room was too hot, but we were busy visitng and forgot about it. Waking up to a dry air after a night out is never a pleasant experience.

Stayed here for 3 nights in the middle of October 2012 having booked it as an EasyHoliday package.
Looking at previous reviews: - yes, the rooms are small, but unless you are willing to pay a couple of hundred Euros/Pounds a night, then this is what you get in a city location. For the size, our room was very well laid out, with an interesting arm chair in the (floor length) window - perfect for watching the world go by. The bed was large and comfortable - and unlike many hotels in mainland Europe, there was a choice of pillows. Tea/coffee was provided in the room with 2 fresh bottles of water each day. Bathroom is very good size; the shower was very powerful and HOT! Air con was working ok - and (luckily?) didn't suffer from the sewage smells. But as always - not enough hangers in the wardrobe.
The breakfast room is quite small considering the size of the hotel, so tables have to be "turned round" several times during the breakfast period. But the lady clearing the tables was so efficient that by the time we'd collected a drink and some fruit, the table was cleaned and beautifully laid out ready for us. Breakfast had a decent selection - usual cereals, fruit platters (slices of pineapple, kiwi fruit, oranges etc), an array of cold meats and cheeses as well as boiled and scrambled eggs, cooked tomatoes and bacon, with fruit juice (not cheap-y carton stuff), iced water and tea / coffee to drink. There was also a variety of cakes (including pasteles de natas - mmmm) and rolls. Although plentiful, the selection was the same each morning, so for a stay of longer than our 3 nights, the breakfast could start to get a little monotonous.
The welcome glass of Port is a nice touch - and to echo another review, the drinks are large; I've never had a gin and tonic served in a brandy bowl that was almost big enough to take a whole bottle of alcohol! So beware the pre-dinner drink - you could end up rolling down the Porto hills as you set out for the evening.
With the hotel being across the road from Trindade metro station, it is ideal for a short break in Porto; we would certainly stay here again.

Newly opened hotel in good position opposite metro station. Friendly service. Good breakfast options. Easy walk into the old city - but uphill on the way back! Good size rooms with well fitted bathrooms. Discount car parking locally.
