You have to take to tour, which is 7 euros for half an hour. Our guide wasn't that great, but still it's worth a visit. It starts with some nice rooms with surprisingly sad paintings. The last room is the big thing here. An outstanding Arabic style ballroom! Unbelievably detailed! That room makes it worth visiting.

Beautifully maintained attraction which highlights the power & wealth that Porto once had. 60 minute tour is conducted in both Portugese & English and highlights the craftsmanship that went into the various rooms. Well worth a visit.

We were in doubt whether to go and see it or not. Frankly, terrible heat made us go under the roof, and this was a place close to us. If you are visiting Porto, make this one of your stops. There is a ticket fee and guide takes you in and give explanation. Their Arab room is this final gem, quite extraordinary. Guide told us it was made to impress. And so many years after it was built it serves its main purpose.

If you get the chance to visit this outstanding place with a guide like ours, from ecotours, you will learn soooo much about Oporto's history. And in fact a real beautiful place!

Fabulous building, used to be the heart of the commercial district. The architecture and design is incredible. The tours are available in multiple languages and add a lot to the visit. Highly recommended!
