The welcome is nice and the food is very good. The staff are reasonably proficient in English so getting what you want is not a problem. When ordering the wine or port, be careful that you are getting what you are expecting. In our case, an initial confusion between "Late Bottle Vintage" and "Vintage" port was promptly and adequately dealt with by the staff and all was ok, a reflection of attention to customer satisfaction.

As is common in Portuguese restaurants, you are presented with various entrées from which you choose and return the others. Portions are also very large, so be careful not to over-order all that appealing stuff. And don't hesitate to take-away for yourself or the needy.

The concierge at our hotel recommended this small, family run restaurant in a quiet cul de sac and it was just what we were looking for. Delicious local food, full of Portuguese people, good service and a decent house wine by the glass. This is not a sophisticated night out, but a rustic, simply decorated restaurant serving hearty local fare. Would definitely recommend.

An enormous plate of delicious traditional food awaits you. If you eat it all, there is something wrong with you. But it's not the quantity here that matters...it's the quality. It's excellent. Foodies beware...this is not the architectural food you love, but it's good to the core. The place is located in an alley. The decor is in-decorous. Nonetheless, we loved it.

We went there as recommended by a friend, to eat codfish. Have to admit that the atmosphere was great, the food excellent, not only the codfish, enormous quantities, price good for the quality. I would really recommend to book in advance.

we went in this restaurant, cause it was highly recommanded by our hotel receptionist and our guidebook, rankin it as the best restaurant in Porto.
We find it quite hardly, in a very little street.
When we arrived there, we were very delighted to discover that the restaurant was ranked no1 by tripadvisor in 2012, the restaurant proudly displays the badge proving it.
One time in, we was quite disappointed ... First, the restaurant is quite narrow, nothing special in the design (nor modern, neither traditionnel ..) and the food very heavy and clearly lacks of sophistication.
I ordered for the local speciality : baccalau ... i has a bacclau with potatoes flooded with half liter of oil ... a very common and quite savourless dinner ..
