the food and service on all three of my visits have been very good. portions are large, wine list one of the best in Porto. atmosphere is great, they have two beers specially brewed for them by Super Bock, yet to try as the wine list wins with the Crasto wines. for two about 70 euros

Sent here by a portugese colleague, I enjoyed the local specialties, attended by a friendly waiter, who was always at the ready. I seriously recommend eating here.

The food was way beyond what 2 people could eat, secondly the rabbit we ordered tasted rather dry. It felt and tasted like frozen food thats cooked before defrosting

We were recommended the Abadia by the receptionist at our hotel, Castelo Santo Caterina. It is tucked away in a back street and if you didn't know it was there, you wouldn't find it! The quality of the food and value for money was in our view excellent, but what really tipped the balance for us was the quality of the waitering. Sounds strange, I know, but if you want an example of the perfect waiter with attention to detail and customer satisfaction, then choose a table on the upper level ( which in fact is the same as street level) and ask for Tiago! He has been there since the age of 14 and it is like watching an artist at work!!
We liked it (and him) so much the first night, we went out of our way to go back there on our second night. We were not disappointed.

Good choice, good service, good food. Bustling and after 8 p.m crowded. There can be queues. We liked the fact that we could choose a dish to share and portions were large!
