Very interesting plates, of idian inspiration. A little "hot" also in the moment of paying the bill....

My curry yardstick was calibrated by living in Balsall Heath in Birmingham (the British one!) for over 15 years. My expectations are for excellent food and excellent value. At just below €20 for just a curry without rice, you have to be kidding. If I weren't dining on expenses I would have walked out again.

I have also recently had excellent curry in Spain. At half the price. So it's not that you can't get the ingredients in southern countries at a reasonable price.

The curry was OK. The pilau rice was (expensive) and a little greasy. At least the beer wasn't overpriced.

“Best Indian food in Porto, but at a price...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2011

This is by far the best Indian restaurant in Porto but the prices reflect that as they are above average.

The food is great, the service is efficient and the ambience is nice and cosy. A good choice for a special night out.

“Good food, over-priced and mistakes with the bill”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 27, 2011

Food was good on the whole but the prices of this restaurant are absolutely extortionate. We ordered two portions of Poppadums to begin. Each portion cost 1.40€ and consisted of ONE poppadum. Almost three euros later and we have two poppadums between 5. We all know that most Indian restaurants give them free and they cost next to nothing to provide...

Waitress was friendly and suggested three rice was enough between four (rice was almost 5€ a portion). A small cereal bowl-sized portion of rice was served (it was two desert spoons of rice each) When asked if there was more rice to come she said "Oh you want more..". She brought a second small bowl.

The vegetable byriani was 20€ and consisted of basic rice, s smattering of cheap vegetables and a sauce (not veg curry).

We had one drink each.

The bill came and we had been charged for three portions of rice (20 euros!!) and extra drinks we hadn't had. They changed the bill when we challenged them.

Overall bill for 5 people 120€. This included TWO poppadums. One Main each. Four spoons of rice each and 5 beers!

Enough said.
