A great small Castle. Kids will love it. Views across the countryside.
It’s an easy day trip from Porto with cheap train fares.
A reasonable walk from the train station to the castle.

A bit of a highlight of historical Portugal. Beautifully restored with furniture and short English explanations. Add in a don't miss medieval town and you can't lose.

An interesting Old castle that sits on top of the hill. It is the original castle but a large portions of it have been rebuilt after centuries of neglect. Still very interesting to go see you can also overlook the city.

Entrance fee is 2 EUR. There is a small exhibition about the early history of the kingdom of Portugal.

While the outside is pretty, there is nothing to see inside, it is basically ruins that you walk the perimeter of. Don't waste your time here. There are so many more beautiful things to see throughout Portugal
