While it seems this restaurant ifs a bit oddly situated, it truly represents s cabana in the dunes. The food is of good quality and here you will find a true hearty Portuguese meal of either meat or seafood.

We ordered crab, octopus salat and grilled calamari.
We got a cold crab and the octopus salat was with some strange jelly in it.
After that bad start we hoped that the grilled calamari would be better.
But they were not eatable.
We did not had such an unenjoyable dinner for years.
I cannot recommend the seafood in this restaurant at all.

We had a superb late lunch at this restaurant after our friend Piers Gallie, owner of Quinta do Convento da Franqueira in Barcelos, recommended it. The staff were excellent and although I speak Portuguese they gave my wife a menu in English. Drinks came swiftly (always a good sign in my book) along with local bread and olives. My wife had the charcoal chicken and chips and I had the seafood rice which was amazing; it had about 6 large prawns, slices of lobster and crab, along with mussels and clams, the waiters kindly gave me a bib to eat it! Coffee was accompanied but a complimentary local honey based liqueur. The family members who run the restaurant were very friendly and attentive.

Smart restaurant (mainly people in suits eating while we were there) a stone's throw from the beach. Cool climate and high wooden ceilings a welcome relief from hot weather outdoors. Excellent wine list and range of food. Some fresh seafood expensive (90 euros a kilo for top lobster), but clams with coriander at 36 euros delicious and enough for two to share as a starter. Rice stews of generous portions. Service very professional.

Good restaurant for fish and seafood. Good sea views. Lot of parking space. Expensive.
