A small and very comfortable hotel. Free wifi. Excellent breakfast with natural orange juice. So tasty. Rooms are well furnished and hotel is on a large pedestrian section of a big avenue so
there is no traffic noise. The building has been carefully modernised so that there is a feeling of old world charm coupled with first rate modern facilities. It is simply situated on this part of the road without too much outside to show you that you're there ,so look carefully in case you pass it by! Very good value.

Room Tip: Choose a room overlooking the garden

Although not an extensive hotel, and not one you would pick for business, this is a charming building with a lot more history than a typical chain hotel. Situated in the main area of the town and close to restaurants and shopping (which admittedly is limited in Braga!), this hotel offered a completely European experience.
I stayed during a conference at the University. Amazing area for breakfast which looked slightly monastic, columns and well lit area to have a light delicious breakfast. Because the surrounding restaurants were crowded during summer and often cigarette smokers dine outside, we used the restaurant in the evening. Possibly the best steak and antipasti we've ever had.
The room itself was cosy, not very large but had everything we needed. I think if you're looking to stay somewhere to enjoy just the hotel then another place might suit, but this is perfect if you're spending only a couple of hours each evening in your room.
Definitely research things to do in Braga; there isnt much available for the average tourist. Overall, a great stay!

This was the best hotel we stayed in in Portugal in 13 days. Better even than 5 star hotel on our itinerary. We got a mini suite, great bed, plate with fruit and complimentary bottle of water. Very big bathroom with toiletries. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, but somewhat limited choices. Location outstanding. Overall a wonderful experience. Highly recommended!

This is the second time I stay in this great hotel. Nice rooms, clean, very kind reception. And below you find one of the best restaurant in Braga. The position is ideal, and it is very quite. Beds quite comfortable.

Room Tip: Rooms on the first floor are larger and nicer.

We liked this hotel and would recommend it to others. It was clean, comfortable and in a good central location. The downside is that the price is a little high for what you get, but if you are spending a day or two in Braga and don't want to search around too much for a decent place to stay I'd say this is a good bet.

Not sure how this property is four star. It's far from it. The rooms are very outdated, the linens fraying, the carpets grubby, the rooms smelly, shower curtain moldy. It's in real need of updating. The strangest thing is that all the pillows are stored in closests rather than on the beds. Not sure when the pillow cases were last changed but they smelled like dirty laundry and were quite yellowed. The wifi, advertised as free throughout the hotel, didn't work in my room. Dinner in the attached restaurant "filled the hole" but did little more. The portions were absolutely enormous and a starter was certainly large enough for a meal.

On the upside, we were given a free parking space and the staff were friendly and helpful. While these are nice, they weren't enough to redeem the hotel. I'm sure there are better choices in Braga.

We chose to stay in this central location for the Festival of St John (23/24 June) so that we could celebrate and party and walk everywhere. We arrived by car on Saturday afternoon and parking or finding the hotel was no problem for our GPS. There is no parking fee in the area from Saturday lunchtime till Monday morning and the hotel has reserved parking bays if you do arrived in time to get one.
The public areas of the hotel are tastefully and cleverly furnished to give the feel of space and light.
A drink at the bar on our first night with our very knowledgable host, Antonio, (who worked in London for years and speaks excellent English) set the tone for a special time. The Carbonara pasta and Tricolor salad in the restaurant were a welcome change from all thePortuguese food we have been devouring. The inclusive hot and cold Breakfast buffet had freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit and all else we desired including a selection of Portuguese pastries but sadly no Nata to which I have become addicted. We so enjoyed the ambiance and service that we opted to have our traditional Sao Joao Festival BBQ ( sardines, green peppers, chicken and loads more) of the 24 June there.
Full moon, 13 - 27 Celsius, warm welcome and fun.
I would definite recommend this hotel and also the Festival of St John in Braga which is very traditional with the street parades inclusive of all family members.

Room Tip: Room 204 at the back was possibly less noisy than the front rooms that almost overlook the festival...
