We now have been there 3 times. Every time I was pleased with the room with kitchenette. First time breakfast was included but when you have your owen kitchenette the decision was easy to eat breakfast at our own balcony in hte sun with sea view. A large supermarket is just opposite the road in Forum Madeira. The hotel has a very nice swimmingpool with café where you can have all drinks you like but also sandwiches and warm lunch stuff... So .. Duas Torres is top for me.

A medium size Hotel sit on the beach at Forum area of Funchal that make you feel at home. Very comfortable large but old room, sea side balcony and kitchen cabinet. Forum shopping center just few steps opposite the road, can't ask for more at this price! Staffs are nice and helpful service. On top of that, restaurant O' Classic that located in this Hotel is fantastic both the food and the view.

Stayed in hotel 07/2013 for one week. The price was a real bargain, 240 € (7 days). Room was good sized, we had an extra bed and still were not cramped at all! The room had kitchenette with basic utensils, smallish flat-screen tv with lot's of channels and a balcony with spectacular views. There was some wear and tear visible, but overall clean and our cleaning lady did a great job. Besides the worn look, the only small complain I have was that my back and the mattress were not a match made in heaven. Bathroom had a bathtub and shower, same wearing was visible, but I were far from appalled to use the facilities. The pool area is really comfortable, good sized pool with separate children's area, lot's of sunbeds and really reasonably priced drinks and food in the pool bar. Being one of the first hotels in the area, Duas Torres is situated in a prime spot "next" to the beach (beaches in Madeira are not sandy swimmable beaches) and has excellent views to the sea and lido area below. Our room was in the eight floor, but I imagine that almost any room has at least some view to the sea. Make sure to visit the roof terrace (no facilities, but open to visit at any time) in the night with good views over the city! We had no breakfast so cannot say anything about it. The hotel restaurant is however really good with again a great view to the sea and recommended even if you are not staying in the hotel. Decently priced and a bit to fancier side than many others in the neighbourhood.

We stayed at this hotel for 1 week at the end of june and would recommend it. The hotal is in a lovely location in a nice part of Funchal with a nice promanarde to walk on nearby and lido .The bus stop is right outside but I wished I had printed the timetables for the different bus companies before arriving it would have made thing easier though the reception staff were very helpful with this.
The basic suite was fine with no frills ,bedroom ,sitting area, kitchinette and balcony with sea view. The beds are firm but we found them comfortable and slept well. The suite was cleaned daily and the hotal has a nice pool area. The breakfast was good but only had fried egg and bacon once and the bacon was under done. The rest of the time was scrambled egg and frankfurters which didn't appeal. The bread was good and fresh but no toast. Enjoyed sitting out on the terrace for breakfast.Overall I would stay here again

Don’t stay here! It should have a health warning! We have travelled a good deal and it is the Worst hotel we have personally stayed in. We usually love the hotels and have no real problems. But Upon seeing the room in this hotel, I was very disappointed to say the least. The bedroom furniture was old, dated and grubby. The draws had remnants of human hairs inside! The mirror was speckled with age. The bathroom was terrible, the plug didn’t work it was a feat to keep the water in the sink. We had to have taps running constantly.
The bath was excessively stained, the shower was on a clip which kept plummeting into the bath on use. The tiles were dirty and worn, overall it was grubby and unclean.
We asked the single beds to be made as a double. The maid used the same single sheets across the bed, which was uncomfortable and annoying. They were changed only once at the end of the week, when we got a double sheet!
The towels were stained and also not changed daily only moved around. Overall it wasn’t cleaned only slovenly set upon daily. When we arrived on our floor level 6 all the doors were open except ours. On the floor above drilling, banging and maintenance took place for half the holiday. We complained as this went on between 8am - 6pm. But the manager was rude and indifferent. He wouldn’t compensate us in any way or move us, despite the hotel been half empty! We couldn’t enjoy our balcony and had to go out most of day because of the constant noise.
Beware there is also no safe in the rooms. We had a fridge, though unclean, it kept the water cold. We asked the receptionist to sort out our airport return transport, she forgot, so we asked on the next morning and she sorted it out but told us the wrong time. Half an hour later! Luckily we went out of the hotel on that morning and saw the taxi driver sitting there, when we returned he was still there, so we realised he was waiting for us. We had to apologise for the hotel era. But we could in hindsight have missed our airport transport if he hadn’t waited and we hadn’t had the foresight to ask. There is also a gym across the road that wakes you loudly at 8am but this is not attached to the hotel.
I have one good thing only to say about this hotel. The food in the restaurant was superb. So my advice would be to stay elsewhere and visit the restaurant for a beautiful meal and excellent waiter service.

Room Tip: Basically don't go to this hotel. You have been forewarned.

The place is not fancy or luxurious but it is cheap (late April at 45€/night), with decent rooms with a really good location, since it's right across the street from Forum Madeira, where you have a supermarket. There is private parking, and a bus station right outside the door.

Our family have stayed at Hotel Duas Torres from the first time in 1999 and then every time after that, allmost every year as we keep coming back to Madeira. We have stayed at other hotels in Madeira before ever since 1984, but in Duas Torres we feel like home! The reason? A wonderful and competent personal, a perfect site to the sea, nice, big and quiet rooms and a very nice 4-star restaurant in the hotel etc; all this to a very reasonably price. We will of course return to our second home again on our next holliday!

Room Tip: Rooms facing the sea, to the south, are of course best situated.
