We ate here a couple of times over the New Year period as we were staying nearby and it was convenient for us. However, we are perhaps a little surprised at how high this comes up in the ranking of Funchal restaurants.
The view cannot be faulted. However for an early evening meal (they stop serving at 7pm) the restaurant was lacking in atmosphere - on a chilly evening why not at least light the big open fire that was there? Service was good and friendly. The food was "OK", but nothing particularly inspired or unusual.
The view aside, we didn't find anything special about it. As it was convienient for us, that was no big deal, but if we'd made a special effort to go I think we'd have been underwhelmed.....
