This is a delight. Super service, quality of food and reasonably priced. Have visited four times and everything is superb and consistent.

“Absolute gem”

This restaurant is great for both lunch and dinner.Superb views over the Atlantic,good menu and friendly helpful staff.Outside central Funchal opposite Madeira Forum,but well worth a visit.

“Interesting Food!”

After wondering around trying to find this restaurant (the map is wrong!), we eventually found it and spent a pleasant evening enjoying some interesting fish dishes. The squid starter was excellent and the standard was maintained in the mains. I had hake cooked in tomato, onion and parsnip (the only downside as I don't like parsnip!). My boyfriend had cod baked in cheese with shrimp. Both dishes were unusual and very tasty.

The restaurant was quiet the night we were there but the staff were very welcoming and chatty. They recommended a good wine and made sure that we had enough of everything.

“Dependable quality”

We have visited several times over recent years and the experience has always been a good one. The free pick-up and return service from our hotel some way away was prompt and friendly, the service at dinner equally good. The dishes came with a very good selection of vegetables, though you have to like your spinach heavily laced with nutmeg. All four of us enjoyed what we had ordered: minced duckling - a vast portion, cordon 'blue', scabbard fish with fruit and "Spaghy Bolonaise". The fish came initially without the fruit but this was quickly remedied with apologies when this omission was pointed out. Good house wine. Splendid panoramic view from the dining room (if you get there in the light). Always worth a visit.

“Never disappoints”

We have visited this restaurant several times, mainly in the summer months so we were interested to try it in the winter. We were not disappointed. The food is consistently excellent. The range of starters is imaginative...we had shrimps in garlic, smoked salmon and mango amongst others. Two of our group shared a delicious Chateaubriand, one had a lovely piece of espada ( the local fish), pork loin in a mustard sauce was very tasty and my tournedo with mushroom sauce was cooked to melt in the mouth perfection.
Some managed dessert...very substantial banana splits, but all I could manage was a lovely Irish coffee.
The wine list contains a range of reasonably priced bottles and also half bottles. Complimentary Madeira wine is brought to you at the start of the meal.
Also to consider is the fact that they offer a free pick up and ride home to and from your hotel. This alone makes it a very attractive proposition to some people.
The service is attentive, the setting is stunning, particularly in the summer months when the outside terrace will be available.
This is a restaurant no to be missed.
