Description: Restaurant Mozart is born of a perfect symphony between Rui Pedro, Renato, the Telesforo and all elements of the orchestra every day color the sound of the strings violin sprawling on the wall beside the great figures of the music classical. This name is a tribute to Madeira restoration. Situated in one of the most emblematic areas of Funchal, the Old Town, the Mozart Restaurant with a decoration taken to detail, in a style reminiscent of the Classical Era, lives an atmosphere, an atmosphere of refinement and yet familiar, with attention to detail and a team that although young is too experienced to play the ninth symphony of Mozart. This signature cuisine specializes in dishes whose essence carries various flavors and aromas in a real world full of colors. This signature cuisine inspired by the regional, national and international cuisine not only conveys to each of our clients sound and harmony, but above all provides strong and emotional palate.

My wife and I had dinner at this restaurant this evening and were lucky to get a table without a reservation. The only reason we managed to get a table was because we showed up right when they opened. Shortly thereafter the place was packed and with good reason. The food and service is first class all the way. I highly recommend a visit to this restaurant whenever you're in Funchal.

We had decided against coming to this restaurant because we felt in some small way, some guy dressed as Mozart trying to lure people in to this supposedly fine dining restaurant detracted from what the other restaurants in this chain were achieving. WE WERE WRONG. I'm sorry, I take it back and please forgive me.
We were lured in after a heavy afternoons shopping, we were tired, hungry and unfortunately not dressed for this experience but nevertheless, "Mozart" ushered us in with no undertone of snobbery and the waiters dealt with service and us super efficiently.
The restaurant is cavernous, green walls, red panels with pictures and plates of famous composers and the tables were beautifully adorned with sparkling cutlery and glassware.
We chose the €39 menu option for the very hungry and in need of a hearty meal (that was us) as opposed to those who wanted to spend an evening enjoying the fine dining experience that lie ahead. We settled back for dinner. All drinks are included and course after course of beautifully cooked and presented food came our way. The place was packed so the time between courses was probably a little longer than we expected but it was Friday night and we weren't in any rush.
We had the amuse bouche, a starter, sorbet, mains, dessert and coffee, each with accompanying wines. Well worth the money.
The waiters were a joy to watch, they dealt with everyone with extreme politeness and efficiency, nothing was too much trouble. The correct cutlery for each course and each meal was served to the correct tables every time and the Maître D was diligent at every point of the service we witnessed that evening.
Everything about this business screams success and most deservedly so. This restaurant sits proudly with the rest of the group (the Forte and the Goya I believe) despite my reservations and I wholeheartedly believe that they deserve the reputation they've so rightly earned. My hats off to you.

We arrived at Mozart Resturant in Funchal. The menu looked interesting but expensive compared to others near by. The waiter told us about the special deal of 37 euros each for an all in meal. We were in for a real treat. A feast for all the senses. Beautiful presentation, fabulous flavours and smells.
Our food arrived. 1st course was a fish pate. 2nd course was a taster of a prawn in a basket. The 3rd course ( which is what I originally ordered) prawns on a mushroom risotto. My wife had a swan created out of a apple as part of her dish. Lemon sorbet, main course followed by an exquisite desert that was almost too pretty to eat. Red and white wine served when appropriate. Madeira with desert and coffee. Excellent value, great service!!!!
