A church used by locals all the time. Not as ornate as some of the other churches .

The outside of the cathedral is not so dramatic as some of the English ones but it was very attractive inside. There were lovely blue and white tiles near one of the entrances showing angels and cherubs etc

The call it a cathedral, because there is situated the bishop's see. In reality it is an even not very large church where everything shows bmore expensive than it really was. Still the handcraftship is from a high quality, as it it should for merchants who wanted value for their money.

This is an interesting cathedral with some beautiful features but has nothing to make it stand out as particularly special. It is a fine example of a 15th century church and is worth a visit. On 12th May 2012 a candelight procession was held to commemorate Our Lady of Fatima and this started out from the cathedral - a must to see if you are there as it is so well-attended - however, it is not publicised very effectively.
