Nice to find a cosy restaurant in central Funchal, and have the opportunity to talk matters over BEFORE being approached by the staff.
The man who then greeted us and showed us the cardboard with the pastas, sauces and soups of the day turned out to be the Austrian owner.
Started out with a tomato and mozzarella antipasti with some really tasteful olive oil.
After that my better half got (some slightly overcooked) tagliatelle with a basic tomato sauce whereas I had a well made plate of ravioli.
Paid less than 50,- € including 4 bottles of water and a well tempered Chianti. I'd call that a good deal.
If you're in Italian mood definitely worth a visit.
