We had dinner here a few times. They have an excellent value tourist menu - 3 courses for e12.99 and you are offered a complimentary madeira wine on arrival and leaving. Staff are very friendly and remember you and where you prefer to sit. Garlic bread was wonderful as were their salads. They have a full menu if you want to spend more.

No need to book.

Situated just down the side of the Hole in One Pub.

We stayed at the Cliff Bay hotel which has excellent but expensive restaurant so one evening we explored the nearby locality and found this restaurant up a side street by chance. It is run and seems to only employ ladies, but it worked very well. A varied menu, reasonably priced, good drinks and wine list. Was reasonably priced and good value for money.

Was sufficiently good that we went back another night to find a number of guests from the hotel also there a second night.

My review may be somewhat out of step with some other recent reviews but our experience on an evening when the restaurant was at best half full, was of very poor and slow service.
Our starter arrived 20 minutes after ordering it, which for salads seems somewhat slow and our main course arrived one hour and ten minutes after it was ordered.
The food itself was adequate in a well boiled sort of way. This was the first time I had tried Scabbard Fish, the much vaunted local delicacy, it arrived covered in a soggy batter sitting in an orangey sauce. My experience was that it doesn't compare in any way to fish available locally in the UK and is nowhere near Barramundi for flavour.
Whilst we visited several restaurants more than once during our fortnight in Madeira, we only ate here once, and are very unlikely to return.

Good value for your money! Nice menu and also enjoyed the tourist-menus as well. Did also eat a light lunch here which was super.
