Dining here was a lovely experience - from start to finish. Traditional Madeiran dishes, cooked expertly and served by impeccable waiters. In fact, it was such a positive experience (in so many ways) that we were almost tempted to return for a second time during our two week stay! As we arrived fairly early, we were lucky enough to get one of the tables on the top terrace, which overlooks the street below and the sea. We both had soup to start with - delicious - and my main (pork with plums and ginger) was superb! Even now, several weeks later, just writing about it is giving me cravings for another serve! A good selection of wines by the glass, half bottle or bottle and complimentary glasses of Madeira and a final liqueur at the end. Well worth a visit.
